I have beggan putting up the fenceing for my huant and started bringing out tombstones last night. My friends seem to think its to early but I feel I should have it all up for OCt 1st. How soon do you all put up your huant and how long do you leave it up? I mean I spend all year building so I want it up as long as possible. Im the only one that decorates for several blocks or more from my home so I suppose im the outcast of the holiday lol because I dont do much for christmas. But I was just looking for opinions so I can make sure im not being a bit of a menace to my nieghborhood ... no that I mind being the neighborhood menace, but you should always know what you are

Putting your display up now it totally fine, i agree with your point that if you've spent all year designing and making props you should display them for as long as possible I live in the UK so putting my display out now would be considered " weird ". But if you want it up, then why the hell not.

    Thanks

I've had some of my stuff up for the past two weeks, and just keep adding on as I finish or buy more. I'm the weird neighbor any ways what with my lip and eyebrow piercings and 7 inch hot pink mo-hawk. so I say do what you want. You only live once, and do what makes you happy. No regrets.

We usually put our stuff out the first weekend of October..... People leave their XMAS decorations for at least a month, why shouldn't we do the same for Halloween?

    My 2 cents...

It's ONLY 36 days till Halloween and that will go by way too fast. Enjoy it while you can, I say!
I've had the inside of my house done for over a week now and the only thing that stops me from starting on the yard is a few things I have to finish up first. Go for it and don't worry about what people say.

I say put it up as early as you like.
Personally, I would like all forum members to have outdoor Halloween decor in their yards 3 months before Halloween.
If they can put Christmas stuff on shelves 3 months early, we can decorate for Halloween 3 months early.

Starting the last weekend of September/ First week of October is just fine. Fall has begun, Halloween is (or at least should be) getting into swing, and it's the right time of year. If people want to complain, tell them it is your property and you will do as you please (Within accordance of the law of course).

And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

I have been decorated inside for about two and a half weeks now. I have had stuff up out side for about a week or so now. I am just starting to put up tombstones and still have a lot to do.

    I love you. lol

I start putting my stuff out right after Labor Day. Theres no written rule of when you can start to decorate.

I just spent the last four days working on my back yard set up (You can check out the pics in my albums) and I say this is the right time to get started. I try to get everything set up at the beginning of October, so I have to start at the end of September, or it's half way through the month before I'm done. I generally start taking it down the first week of November, and take down can take me a full month or more. I take very good care of my props though, so when I take them down they are put away in a manner that will not destroy them and that takes time.
