Our's is still in the making, obviously, but we're two-thirds of the way done. As of last night....
We still need to do the background, the foreground, hook up all the pieces so they are animated and of course the detail with water, rocks, leaves, etc.

Christmas for me is a task with all the houses, the monorail, and train, the people, small trees, ice skaing pond, stable, hot wheels cars, and the (carnival rides I made) all around or under the tree. And thus, I have to connect it all to one cord so when I plug it in, I don't have to plug it in multiple times.
To me, this looks simple (no offense), but it does look really good! Get the houses out of the box. Clear some tables, and put the houses down, and connect them. Going under a tree to fit your houses and others stuff with a train and a monorail is much harder for me. It takes more than 2 hours to do that for me.
For Christmas, I also made a zoo with some houses like Reptile House, Penguins, and some other stuff on a table which was a whole lot easier for me to setup because it's on a table instead of under a tree.
I have some Halloween stuff ceramic like a Haunted House, and a Ghost Train Station, but I never really got into Halloween houses that much, and it's probably because you can't really find them cheap unless it's after Halloween, and I never even thought they clear houses 75% at Michael's after Halloween, but I guess now I will check on that after Halloween Even with 50% off deal at Michael's, those houses are still a fortune to me. For Christmas houses, they are more abundant, and you don't have to get Lemax houses. You can some off the brand houses that look pretty nice, and are cheaper than Lemax."Dollar Tree - The High Price to Pay for $1 Prices" China stuff, taking out other stores, around every corner - 136 in 100 miles, poor wages for employees. - I only say this because people say the same stuff about Wal-Mart, but than they go to Dollar Tree.

You have a lot better stuff than I ever had, so if you and I were competing (which I never made a statement that we were), you would win by a landslide. My only point was that if you want to get started with these houses to the person that said they are hard to put up, it's not that difficult to put them up. It's more difficult if you are going to put them in hard to reach places like under a tree, and that was my ONLY point out of that paragraph.
