I know that people have been disappointed with the quality of halloween props this year but I am really disappointed about the relative lack of props.
Several of the sites I used last year to buy props have no halloween props this year.
The other sites I use have limited quanities of each prop they sell.
While buying props online at KMART on Wednesday, 3 of the items listed new sold out before I could finish putting my credit card information in. I even have to drive 30 miles to pick up a prop because all the other stores in a 30 mile radius are already sold out for the season.
Stores in the LA area set up their Halloween displays weeks later than usual, and
they are already running out of props for the season.
I went to Walgreens last night to buy additional quantities of an item and found out they are sold out and will get no additional shipments. (They set up their display 1 1/2 weeks ago and it isn't even October yet)
I know I can purchase items from Ebay but I am tired of paying high mark ups, high shipping and handling charges, and pay pal fees.

I agree however I am not a fan of props in general from Halloween Superstores. However I have heard good things about this inexpensive prop and it is in stock currently.

I heard that most every store from Target to Wal-Mart to Walgreens to Spirit are just selling off their surplus from last year and did not produce or order more items for this season due to the quasi-depression we are in.
Spirit and Fright Catalog are the only ones that is coming out with new items and those are mostly only online.

I have been noticing that too, but not just for props. It seems like all Halloween merchandise is pretty skimpy this year.

We did notice that stores didn't seem to have as much stock, even if it was left over from last year, as normal. What also "bothered" me in a way is that a month ago, when we started looking for Halloween items, they already had some Thanksgiving and Christmas stock out on display!!!! Seems as if Halloween is becoming less and less, though I was under the impression it was becoming more popular with people.

I have noticed the stores do not have as much variety and was a little bummed out too. I make most of my props but like to go shopping to get some inspiration and motivation. This year I will have to rely on other sources to get my Halloween fix.

I'm kind of glad stuff is getting sold out because that's mean the stores will understand what people actually want and got more of that stuff instead of the other stuff that doesn't sell. I think having 5 aisles of candy at Target (someone said) is a mistake by having just too much. It's seems like overkill, and not having as many decorations. If these stores want to clear out their Halloween section so fast, they need to advertise this stuff in September to get people interested in it. I think it's dumb though to rush to Christmas considering it's 2 months after Halloween.
"Dollar Tree - The High Price to Pay for $1 Prices" China stuff, taking out other stores, around every corner - 136 in 100 miles, poor wages for employees. - I only say this because people say the same stuff about Wal-Mart, but than they go to Dollar Tree.
