What happened to the countdown banner ?

The countdown banner on the home page appears to be fine. (only on home page). Was it not visible?

No, it shows up as the dreaded RED X.

It must be your browser cache. Perhaps from a different browser it looks good? (Unless you use mediacomm who has problems displaying that and many servers because of them starting to use some bad IPs)

Tried it using Firefox but it was still not there -- didn't even get the red x. I noticed it was missing because I was using it as my signature on my emails.

I just ran a test that shows a screenshot from 30+ locations on the web and all saw it. No other complaints.

That's weird. Nothing out of place on the other sites I frequent. I don't think I have anything blocking it.

I'm seeing the countdown banner on the Main HalloweenForum.com home page o.k. Maybe try going into "tools" & under "internet options" select "clear browsing data"? Sometimes that helps.
