As I have told many of you before I have lived in Manchester, NH for about 12 years and NEVER have we had Trick Or Treating at night. Actually Manchester hasn't had it at night for almost 40 years. Well I just saw an article in our local paper the Union Leader that said the Mayor wants to change the TOT'ing time from 1-4pm to 4-7pm. I really hope this goes through Manchester might finally have a true Halloween!!![]()

I hate that ToTing times have been moved up to the afternoon. What's the point? You can't turn your Halloween lights on that early and actually have them shine to their full potential. You can't really scare anyone at 1 in the afternoon. When I was a kid, we would be out ToTing from 5-9 if Halloween was on a weekend, and from 4-8 if it was on a weekday. I loved seeing all the lights and house haunts. The ambiance at night is totally different. I hope they move the times back all over the US
Her blood coursed through my veins sweeter than life itself. And as it did, Lestat's words made sense to me. I knew peace only when I killed and when I heard her heart in that terrible rhythm, I knew again what peace could be.

What the what? I didn't realize this was even done. I live way down in the bible belt and they don't even mandate when TOT'ing is allowed. Good luck with that being changed, hard to haunt in the daylight.

I'm happy for you

Our town doesn't have a designated time for TOT'ing. The kids just, grab their pillow case and hit houses whenever.

Good luck with the time change. They encourage people around here to TOT from like 4-8PM.
It's barely dark @ 8. But most people, thankfully, ignore the time thing.------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?

One year I put a sign on the garage that said "toting from 5-9pm - come back when we turn on all the good stuff and hand out candy"... we got like 100 toters that year, despite most of the neighborhood totting at 3-4pm..... But I roll out the lights, the ghosts, the fog and all that at 5pm. No point to before that. toting during the day is a fricken joke imho. I never did it when I was a kid... we carved pumpkins during the day, and tot'd when the sun set. My neices and Nephew will do the same.
How many days do I have left?
