So I was trying to test my fog machine and the attachment I put on it to see if it would give me low lying fog. Worked pretty well and everything was going good... till the wind picked up and then all the sudden I set off my smoke alarm on my apartment building!!!! So I quick shut my garage door, packed up everything and then went inside. So far nothing has happened but when I started hearing the siren, coming directly from above me, I kinda freaked out LOL. Yikes... Halloween mishap.![]()

Yeah we always have to take ours out of commission when we're playing with the fogger.

That happened to us during a Halloween party. The phone started ringing. It was the alarm company indicating they were dispatching the fire dept. The music and noise was so loud, we couldn't hear the alarm during the party. I explained it was a fog machine, thanked them and had the company put the system in test mode until the party was over.

Maybe an important lesson to be learned here for someone who hasn't run an fogger yet....was your fogger outside? or inside? If outside, I never would have thought it would affect something inside like that.

Mine was inside. To prevent this from happening, I bypassed the smoke alarms on our alarm system, or so I thought. It turns out I only silenced the interior horns, but the exterior horn and monitoring station connection were still active. I took some serious ribbing over that "Duh" moment! Thankfully the company called before dispatching the Volunteer Fire Department.
