The Official "Spirit of The Secret Reaper" Thread!

Hey guys, This is to all of my Secret Reapers and Vicitims who participated in this years Secret Reaper hosted by the lovely BETHENE!

As most of you know we have all been having a blast commenting on the thread while we await our Reaper to pay us a visit. (maybe some of us have been commenting more than others ) however, I wanted to take a moment to just comment on what partcipating in the Secret Reaper is really all about.
As I go back and read through all the posts over the past few weeks I noticed that a couple members commented on how worried they were about their vicitim liking their gift, or that maybe they cant spend as much as others and it got me to thinking. This is not about how much we spend. or whether or not our victim will love their gift though of course we all hope they do.... its really about keeping the Holiday spirit alive and giving us all a fun way to get to know each other better. I myself have gotten to know quite a few members better just through the Secret Reaper thread alone.

For me the Secret Reaper is not about getting Terra's coveted tombstone or whatever it is she made (though I do still have a couple of monkeys on hold ready to fly out on a moments notice as soon as her victim reveals his or herself, but I degress)...

no for me its about coming on here everyday and seeing all of the comments from everyone. Hearing how excited everyone is to shop for their vicitims or wonder about what they might be getting from their Reaper. Its about the joking and playing around with eachother on the thread while we all wait. Its about getting to come on this forum everday and talk with people about the best Hoiday in the entire world!!! The truth is I myself have been having so much fun just talking to you all and getting to know you all better that by the time my gift arrives ( and for God sakes I hope that is soon ) well by that time its really just icing on the cake.

I guess what I am trying to say i I think you guys on here are all truly kind and lovely little ghouls and I could not be happier to come to this place each day and play with you. What I get or do not get from my Reaper really doesnt matter because its not the gift that brings me to join the Secret Reaper each year but rather the Spirit it brings to this place. Bethene you do an incredible job with this every year and I want to thank you for giving us such a great way to keep ourselves entertained while we wait for the Big Day to arrive and an awesome way to get to know each other better

I agree if you have any worries about if your gift was good you sent throw those worries in a grave and bury them. You could send me a dollar store find because thats all you could afford or had time to find and I would love it.

What makes Reaper awesome is not the gift but the thought that in all of our crazy hectic lives we took a break, wrapped up something and sent it to a fellow Halloween lover to brighten their holiday.

Honestly any gift sent is an awesome one so relax and enjoy the Reaper

Spooki is absolutely right! She pretty much said it all so I won't add too much - but - I think everyone should know that no matter how much you spent or whether you were able to make it by hand if you researched your victim and put some thought into what you sent they WILL like it!

here here I think you all said it just right. It`s the spirit and the taking the time out of our hectic lives to stop and send a lil halloween spirit to some one else. I really enjoyed this secret reaper (thank you Bethene), being my first time and will do it again. Just for the fact that we all can get together and share in our Halloween spirit. Thanks to all who made this possible and to all the members in this group for sharing their help and advice and just down right out of your mind crazy fun.
Every day is a special day when I can join in the halloween spirit with all of you.

This is just Fabulous! And soooo true! Thanks Spooki, well said. In fact, I had so much fun with the first secret reaper, and even though I still have not received my gift (tee hee) I am signing up for the Secret Reaper II group. I had a lot of fun shopping and thinking about what another fellow Halloween lover would like to receive. I am excited to do it again. Halloween is my Christmas and I enjoy getting to know all of you a little better. I have been a part of this forum for 4+ years, and making new friends as well as seeing old ones is one of the best parts (besides stealing all of your BRILLIANT ideas) Muwahahahaha

Well said! To top it all off we are doing this in cyberspace. In today's world were many neighbors don't even know each other, we are pulling off this Secret Reaper with 100 plus participants from all over the world---linked only by their membership here at Halloween Forum and the love of Halloween.

Thanks to everyone participating. I have loved checking in often to see who was sending out the flying monkeys or scattering purple glitter or receiving their gifts.
