Is it a new trend this year for skulls, skeletons and other Halloween objects to be glittered head to toe? Every store I have walked in (besides WalMart) I have seen something glittered to the max.. I'm not saying its a bad thing but I am not a glitter type of guy and find it odd because glitter isn't scary! Is anyone else experiencing this same thing??

I agree - glitter is not scary at all. I've seen some skulls with so much of the stuff on them that you can't see any detail. Save the glitter for Xmas and Valentine's Day.

I first started noticing the trend last year. I have to admit...I like it. I have two small (fit in palm size) glittered pumpkins and have thought about purchasing or crafting a glittered skull.

Personally, I think it can add a nice touch to decor but it can easily go overboard. I know someone who has two glittered skeletons and well...that's a bit much for me. All depends on the scene you want to set, though.

Very true. It just seemed like a Christmas type thing and I don't know how companies gauge that consumers all the sudden want "scary glittery" objects, so then all the stores start supplying it. I have to admit some of them are cool but since I am more into the "pimp the house out with the scariest and most creative things you can make", it just does not fit into anything I do.

At least I am not the only one noticing this.

    I blame Twilight... LOL

'Sparkly Vampires' and all that nonsense...

glitter is a nightmare to me, that crap gets everywhere. tiny non-biodegradable slivers, get one in your lung and it will be like asbestos. i can't wait till this trend burns itself out, but i'm sure we have a few more years unfortunately

I gotta admit, I love the black glitter stuff! No, it isn't scary, but not everything has to be. I love the look of the black glitter skulls mixed in with the realistic ones as part of my interior decor.

Actually WalMart does have some glittery things. I bought a pack of black glittered tarantulas just today. They aren't completely covered in the stuff...just sparkly a little
