I drove by a neighbors house down the street and they had thier whole house and yard set up. Thier display looked amazing! And now I am feeling competitive and want to out do them just like Christmas Vacation lol
Do you feel this way also that you have to out do your neighbors?

Wouldn't be much of a competition - no one else around here decorates except me and a couple of houses with inflatable pumpkins!

Yes. I live in a smaller town and most people who decorate use just smaller, easier to store items. Only a few actually go crazy. I find myself driving around those few houses and "spying" to see what they have that I don't. This year that won't be a problem. I've got a few new things to throw at em.

No competition here. I'm the only one on my block that decorates. I've even looked around the other neighborhoods and nothing. Wish there was more

There are two other houses in my immediate area that decorate extensively. Since most of my stuff doesn't go out until Halloween day, and they have theirs up for a few weeks prior, we don't necessarily compete. We all like what we have and enjoy each other's displays but I don't try to out-do anyone.

NEVER! I hope and only wish for more here to get involved. I would show them the ropes and help them have an equally or better haunted house if I could. More haunts/haunted houses equates to a greater Halloween spirit! That would be a great dream and sight to see...

At our old house, our diagonal neighbor tried to keep up with us on Halloween and Christmas, but I like to think I kept ahead of them. New neighborhood this year, and no idea whether anyone will do anything at all. There are a few houses for sale on the block, so I am sure they will do nothing, but we shall see. We have a neighbor here that's sort-of across the street that lit of a TON of fireworks on the Fourth of July, so maybe, just maybe they will get into Halloween too. If not, they will soon see what an amazingly frightful yard we have.

Nope, I would win hands down! The only other house that decorates beyond the stray bat or pumpkin is like 2 blocks away.
Life is too short to not do what makes us happy, keeps us sane, or both.

Originally, yes. Some ToTs said they thought my neighbor had a nicer haunt...
they don't say that anymore.
He does have a nice haunt, but his is mostly store-bought props.

I wish I had competition...it's me and only me around here....I live in an apartment but we have huge porches & balconies and gigantic windows...so I always have plenty to creep out...our manager liked my display so much last year that she's planning on doing a contest for Halloween decorating this year....we'll see how this goes....crossing fingers that more people get into it....
I am the thing that goes bump in the night........
P.S. I'm a girl.....
