Now I am forced to buy hats, hair, fake jewelry. In a way I am relieved but I feel like I cheated. Everything was supposed to be handmade, but alas there is only so much I can do. Has anyone ever been in this situation...Where you finally give up on the idea of "creating your perfect prop" and surrender to just purchasing it?

The only downfall of Halloween is it only happens once a year.

Being fully aware of my skills, building the perfect prop is never even a goal. "Adequate" works just fine for me - and everyone in the neighborhood seems to like them just fine - especially when viewed in the dark.
And I would never, ever set myself up for failure by insisting on only handmade props. I use whatever help I can get my hands on! Just like cooking, I figure if I made it at home, it's homemade!
After all, it's supposed to be for fun, not an exercise in stress.

Since I am not that talent, I do know how you feel. There is no such thing as the perfect outfix.

Decorinator... I am way pass stressed, so fun isn't even in the picture. Nowhining...there isn't such a thing as perfect...especially looking at my props now....but all in all I guess if I just go with the flow maybe it will be a better experience.
