If so, do you have any problems with your landlord about setting up stuff in the yard?

I am. I know the landlord wont mind. Hes a cool guy and doesnt care as long as hes not bothered. Now the HOA around here...we'll see. first year. They freak out if you put your empty trash cans around the side of the house instead of in the garage...oh and they have to be "their cans"

I don't think my current landlord cares so much, but one I used to have, did. He was trying to rent the other apartments in the house I lived in, and told me it made the house look bad. Funny thing is, he was a pretty cool guy otherwise. He didn't make me take it down, but he did complain about it (I worked with him), and told me his wife hated it too (too bad, LOL).
My current landlord wants to take out the tiny patches of grass and put in rock ("desert landscape" my foot, it's flippin rock, is what it is!!). That would absolutely ruin my cemetery look, but then again...I may not be here then, so it might not matter anyway.

When I rented a duplex my landlord didn't complain, but he lived on the other side of town and only came by for problems. He thought it was neat. But when I moved out because we bought a house he destroyed my mausoleum. It was a handbuilt storage shed with loft for use during the haunt, and then storing the props. We moved out in Dec/January, it was cold, wet...ok, swampy. By the time we got everything else we were broke, exhausted, and cramped until we could unpack and arrange the house. I told him he could have it, all it needed was fresh paint and it was a nice shed, he could charge extra rent for the storage. I just didnt have the money to have it moved. OR if he could give me a week to get settled I would come back and dissasemble it. he said he was going to give it to a friend of his, so no worries. The next week I got a bill for $400 from him. He had someone tear it down and haul it off, and billed me for it. The scum sucking rat. I could have reused all the wood. He didn't even get the place ready to rent for another 6 months. I refused to pay him. I told him we had a verbal agreement and I had witnesses. And thus he lost my recommendation as a landlord...I had a friend all set to rent the place til then...

No problems with my landlord. Just don't tear anything up and all is good!

We rent and we have never even spoke to our landlord about it, and they have never said anything to us so I guess all is cool in the world.

I've never decorated any of the places I've rented. I usually decorate my parents house or a friends house (this year I was made aware that a good friend of mine actually loves halloween and said I could use her house... not sure I have time tho now!! How I didn't know she loves Halloween is beyond me..) Anyways. I want to decorate my new place on the balcony, but I'm not sure how management is gonna react... Gonna approach it cautiously. I think it all depends on how comfortable the neighbors are with what you do...and whether they know the owners... lol.
How many days do I have left?
