Wowie, it's been about a year since I've been on here! Now I'm making Halloween preparations and I don't think I'm going to be able to throw a party this year, unfortunately. My new apt is much smaller, and my building has a bit of a "quiet hours" sort of thing due to the number of families that are tenants. C'est la vie!
SO now I'm trying to plan a trip to somewhere on the east coast for Halloween! Anyone have any suggestions? It would be me and some friends of mine - we're all in our early to mid 20s and are looking for a rip roaring scary good time! Salem is definitely on the list, but I'm still looking into the type of events they do...
Anyway, suggest away, please! :-)

We always plan an October trip to put us in the spirit! When I lived on the East Coast we always took a trip to Orlando. We would go to Disney's Halloween party and Universal Horror Nights. Both events are well worth it!
I've also gone to Cedar Point for Scarowinds.
This year, for the first time, we are going to LA for Disney and Universal.

For IL, we go to Sony Acres farm in West Chicago (They have 2 Haunted House - one with better stuff than the other / Haunted hayride at night / pumpkins of course / decorations / food), there is a Scarecrow fest in St. Charles, and there is a pumpkin fest in Sycamore.

All these places are sort of around the same area (western IL)."Dollar Tree - The High Price to Pay for $1 Prices" China stuff, taking out other stores, around every corner - 136 in 100 miles, poor wages for employees. - I only say this because people say the same stuff about Wal-Mart, but than they go to Dollar Tree.

My wife, her family, and myself make an annual trip to Orlando every October. Orlando has several haunted festivities. If you pick the right weekend, they have a HorrorCon, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Disney's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and just an hour away, Busch Garden's Howl-o-Scream. Also head up to St. Augustine and take one of their famous ghost tours and you've got a great little week of nothing but scarefests.
Plus if you're driving, you can head through Atlanta and hit up one of the top haunted houses in the nation, Netherworld either on the way there or on the way back.
This year we're skipping Halloween Horror Nights as it is really getting repititious for us and pricey, and will be checking out Mickey's and Howl-o-Scream for the first time.Artistic Director @ The Haunted Theatre on Hill Street (Griffin)

I LOVE Mickey's Not so Scary! It was an annual tradition when we lived in NC. The parade is fantastic...the Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers and the gravedigger segment is awesome! The fireworks are the best of the year.

My absolute favorite is Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA.

Not a "haunted attraction" per say, but I like to go to Gettysburg for Halloween.
'Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.

I went to Salem a few years ago for their haunted happenings, it was a great time at a great historic place, you can't go wrong with this trip.
EVERY DAY TO ME IS HALLOWEEN!
