As corny as these inflatable Halloween props are, every so often the put out one that's cool and fits my theme so I add it. OKay, I have to have the darned things! It's a sick obsession. The kids love em and you get so much instant decoration for your buck! So anyone else got like 7 or eight of them? More? They give a sort of old fasioned carnival theme feel to a yard thats populated with them. I have some pics last year of my collection. They always go up first before all the other stuff. I'll have to try and find the pics and post a few.
Was that the doorbell? Sigh. Even as I sit here typing I am waiting for Oops (UPS) to deliver my new Giant black cat that is crouched to strike. And what is it going to be pouncing on? Why a bio-slime mutanted giant tentacle pumkpin, of course!!! You can view some of my bio-slime stuff in my profile album if curious. Happy hot air haunting. Cait
PS: Would anyone know where to get the Gemmy Haunted House they did a few years ago? I'm looking for a 2nd one to modify for a special display. Thanx.

No, I am a plastic blowmold aholic!! These inflatables have almost been the demise of the plastic blowmolds, but they are coming back at Menards with strong sales!!
I have a Frankenstein, a Ghost on a Pumpkin, a Skeleton with a tombstone with a saying on the tombstone, Alien, Count Dracula, regular pumpkin, and 2 smaller ghosts holding a skeleton, and a pumpkin (one is newer and one is older). I want the Ghost with the green eyes, and I want the scarecrow with a pumpkin head! http://www.genfoam.com/
The Scarecrow with the pumpkin head they aren't making anymore, but hopefully they will start making it again.
Short story is that there is really only one main blowmold corporation around, and that's the link - General Foam Plastics, and the reason why a lot of these plastics look familiar (You have might have seen them before) is because they have bought the molds from Empire, Santa's Best, and Poloron. They also have the Disney molds, but because the license is so expensive, they aren't making them. That's why when they had those Mickey, Minnie, Goofy for Christmas and whatnot, and they were so expensive before (around $50 a piece) due to the license.
Union was another big plastic blowmold company, but they sold their molds to Faster-Forms and HMC International, but they just threw them away because they said that basically inflatables were taking over.
So, now all the plastic stuff you see is from General Foam Plastics."Dollar Tree - The High Price to Pay for $1 Prices" China stuff, taking out other stores, around every corner - 136 in 100 miles, poor wages for employees. - I only say this because people say the same stuff about Wal-Mart, but than they go to Dollar Tree.

Awesome link. I didn't have that one. Wow. What a selection! Thank you very much.
And the GEN link is very cool too...
I do a mixed display with sections of each: Real and "carnival" as we call it. The garage is adults and supervised children only. AGAIN THANKS FOR THE LINKS Fan and Can!

Inflatables are fun if thats what your thing is. The TOT's love them. They are very cartoon like so they present a warm and fuzzy, non scary sort of display. That being said I went from the inflatables to a full on gore obssession, I dont know when it happened it just did.

Same here, I prefer blow molds to inflatables. Though I understand the inflatables appeal.
I regret not buying a Dracula blow mold a few years back when I was in Walmart.
I haven't seen blow molds here in MD in ages, just on Ebay & usually the shipping costs more than the item.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

I love those spiders!
I am also a blow mold collector but as I said in previous threads I think I am going to gather all the airblowns I see at yard sales and find them new homes.

I have about 10 of the Halloween airblown decorations and 5 or so blow molds and love them both BUT over the years I have displayed them less and less. Last year I displayed 2 airblown, spider and the grim reaper archway, 1 blow mold a pumpkin. I like the gemmy Animatronics more and more, I am going for the scary look and getting away from the friendly displays. Last year was the start and have some great stuff planned this year..................
