We're all accepted here with our Halloween obsession. It's the norm to become giddy over new Halloween finds, crafts, props, and the countdown to the big day. It's also seen as extra awesome if you take extra effort in bloodying up your appearance and creating the most outstanding costume.
But what do your friends and family think of all of this? How do those closest to you view your obsession?
I'm lucky that my husband loves this holiday as much as me... And our 10 month old daughter enjoys everything orange, including pumpkins, so I'd imagine she'll be a future haunter as wellAs for the other family and friends though.... My family thinks we're too obsessive and morbid (we're actually not morbid by any means) and our friends LOVE the effort we put into our Halloween Bashes each year!

None of my friends are into Halloween anywhere near as much as I am. My father doesn't care for the holiday at all, but he doesn't like much of anything to begin with. Luckily, my mother is supportive, other than about my 'goodies' taking up pretty much an entire basement wall

Hubby is totally into it too... we did get married on Halloween.
Rest of the extended family thinks we're nuts.

My 19 year old niece is about the only one who truly shares the same spirit that I do; however, I think she leans more towards gore than I do now (I never did).
My husband only enjoys it because he likes the compliments he gets for my work, and because he knows that "it's all I do" hobby wise, that costs him money. He learned that trick after complaining how much I spent on Halloween, and I compared it to his golf spending.
My mom used to be into it, when I was nearby to decorate her house, but after I moved away, she lost interest. Dad never cared for people coming to the door and interrupting his shows and newspaper reading. (he had a soft spot for the kiddos though he wouldn't admit it--but the older kids drove him nuts....must be where I get it from?). My sister likes Halloween, and does decorate, but only "if" she has time, and she just buys stuff to put out. Not that that is truly a bad thing (better than nothing IMO), but it just lacks something for me. She might have two tombstones in her yard, and a couple of crows, and call it good...and she has a nice sized yard that I could fill with tombstones (and I might!!).
Friends...they just think I'm nuts. (I am, but...) I do have one friend who wanted me to decorate his house, but that would have required moving in with him, LOL. Neighbors always say "Don't you have anything better to do?"
My ultimate goal is to move back "home" before the big day, and decorate my sister's house for her, with my niece's help. We'll just have to see if it pans out, or not. It would be nice to have a real old-fashioned Halloween complete with changed/fallen leaves and cool temps. Halloween in Vegas is just so un-fallish to me.

I have a friend who is just as enthused about the Fall/Halloween season as I am. As for the rest of the family and friends, I keep it on the DL for most of the year. They just get tired of hearing about it.

My wife was "accepting" before I asked her (no joke) if we could uproot the family and move to a bigger neighborhood so I could do the Halloween thang. That didn't go over well. I have still never had the chance to do a yard haunt.....( hence the name Rookie). Maybe one day.

My husband respects my love of Halloween but sadly deep down inside I'm sure he doesn't get it.
My family and friends know who to come to for decorating tips, they all know that Halloween and Lisa (thats me) go hand in hand.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

my hubby likes Halloween, but he's not really "into it". Well, he's not obsessive like me
My mom isn't majorly into it. She just puts up a little bit of Harvest type decor, and passes out candy. But that's it. My close cousin's & friends just think I'm crazy. But they like my decorating & props. So that's cool.
oh, and one thing my hubby doesn't like about this time of year...is my spending

My husband isn't into Halloween but he accepts that it means a lot to me. He doesn't complain about the time and money spent. I put in all the time and effort, though he does help out kind of grudgingly on things where I need a "spotter" so I don't break my neck on a ladder.
My FIL and his sister stayed at our home over Halloween on the way to Florida last year, they seemed pretty amazed and amused. Guess it's been good for a lot of storytelling back home!
No one else in my family is close by so they only have to listen to me on the phone and look at pictures. I have noticed that when I start talking enthusiastically about my plans to friends, neighbors or the lady who cuts my hair, they look kind of stunned. But if/when they see my display, they get more excited!
And my husband, for all his "non-interest," brags to his co-workers about his wife's Halloween display. Last year he kept sending around my Harvest Halloween YouTube link!
