I would never use inflatable props. They are just too cartoonish for my tastes. Although, they have a place since they give the non-do it your selfers a nice option.
Its so nice to be insane, no one asks you to explain...

If they are mixed with good props I can tolerate them. But as one of my neighbors does, makes them the only props, I'm not a fan.
Say no to inflatable props this Halloween!
That would certainly be a better sign in our yards this fall then whatever candidate we support

A couple of years ago, while driving to my friend's house for Halloween, I saw a smaller yard crammed to the brim with inflatables (literally no room between most), which looked utterly ridiculous. As long as they're not used in that capacity, they can be alright. I personally wouldn't go the inflatables route, but to each their own. Certainly better than putting out nothing, like some people choose to do...

I agree, a yard that looks like an inflatable parking lot is not good decorating! However, a few sprinkled here and there are okay by me. And the little tots really like them!
Personally, I can hardly wait to inflate this new skeleton archway at the end of my sidewalk this year:

I promise it will look better when it's not in a messy garage!

Not to deflate the idea......I am not a fan of them for myself. Decorating is all about expression and a person's creativity, if that includes inflatables then who am I to say otherwise.

I don't own any Halloween inflatables, because they don't go with my cemetery scene. However, I would much rather see them than nothing at all. I agree that the younger kids enjoy them, too. I don't like overcrowding with them, either (in our yards here, it's hard to not overcrowd anything, they're literally patches of grass or rock rather than real yards).
I did break down and buy one for Christmas ($6 from $60 at Big Lots 90% off sale a few years ago). My personal opinion is that they're better for Christmas.

I have a few, and to be honest, I must say they are a must, because at night, they can be seen from far away and help's bring in the tots!
That is why I am creating 2 seperate haunts, one for tots (cute and inflateable) and the other side, creepy and scary!!

I'm with lairmistress: not for me, but I'd rather see them used than to see no decorations at all.
I will admit that if I ever found that inflatable rat for a super price, well....
