Does anybody else get hit with the realization that there just isn't enough time to do what you're planning in your head for Halloween this year?
Every year in early September, I regretfully have to prioritize my projects. By this time I still want to do 10 more home built tombstones, 30 paper mache skulls, work out lighting, finish my Proton Pack for my Ghostbusters costume, develop some great new effect that I've only sketched out on the back of a napkin... etc.
Urg... so frustrating. I need like the next 2 months off while still collecting my paycheck.

Yep, that's why I'm thinking about giving up this forum. I was happier a couple years ago when I didn't know about pneumatics and wiper motors (not that I do now either) but I've put a lot of pressure on myself the past few years trying to make what others are making. I look at different props people have buiilt and think to myself, I've got to have that.
Ignorance was bliss.

Ditto Scatter... Every time I come on here and see 3 new ideas that I wanna try out. And I haven't even gotten into pneumatics, etc.

Getting up this morning, I'm hopeful to start a "reality check" today to try to decide what's possible and what's got to go into "long term development" (aka next year).

I'm feeling the same way. I have this huge list of stuff I want to make and do for my party and I keep scaling back because I KNOW if I can't get it done I will be disappointed.

yeah i'm feeling it, budget is part of it too. i want to do a crashed ufo this year. seems simple in my head, but time, money, logistics aren't. i don't want to start the build too early cause the thing would be about 20 ft in diameter. but i wouldn't want to run out of time.
other thought it to just put out the graveyard again and scale down to just my stalk around that hasn't been used since 2005. maybe change the head and hands from a gargoyle to grim reaper. i don't know.
i need to keep cost and effort down."Trick or treat" is not a greeting, it's an ultimatum ~ Spats

Just remember that what ever you put out in your display is 100 times more then most people no matter how new your props are or fancy they are. Most people just have a JOL and thats if they decorate so relax, breath and remember its fun
