Ever watch this little documentary? I found it very informing about the roots of Halloween, and the Pagen vs Christian beliefs. Also, it gives a nice background on Witches, and Other Halloween Symbols like Black Cats, and Bats. It goes back to the roots of Halloween, and moves through the changes of it, and struggles of its dark origin. It also has a portion about Cino de mayo in Mexico, which I found interesting! There is a little light shed on the Salem Witch Trials, which is one of the most intriguing things ever, to me. Here's a link to the entire documentary:

I love this documentary SO MUCH. It has come to mean "Halloween" to me (or it's one of the things that mean Halloween). Yeah, I know there are a few errors here and there...but I just love it...I don't know what it is about that documentary...and there are a lot of interesting facts in it.

Netflix carries it if you ever feel the need to catch it mid year.
Great episode, I broke down and got a copy a few years back since I watch it enough.

I love that show! I had it saved on my DVR for the longest but the machine bit the dust this year and I lost it along with LOTS of other Halloween stuff
. Lesson learned - burn everything to disk that you want to keep!

It has become a part of my Halloween viewing tradition over the last few years. It's very well done in that it takes the history seriously, but still presents it in a fun and entertaining way.

I love that show! I try to watch it every year, trying to remember all the details. Comes in handy when you run across the "Halloween is based on Devil worship" gang.
I taped it to disc a couple of years ago so I could re-watch it anytime.
