Hello everyone,
I've been working so hard to get the haunt open to the public, and meeting all the city codes. Till the city director said its a no. We been dealing with a few members at city hall and its been one thing or another with them. We started off by being told we could open the haunt without a sprinkler system as long as we only use the first floor. And that was fine since we are leasing the building.
Then the city said no again, now this time its due to the fact we are not under a 1000 sq. Ft. Now my building is really two in one with two floors with 10,000 sq. Ft. So that's not going to work. Well I done, I felt the last nail was put into my coffin. My season was done.
But I think I have an idea to save my season. Since I'm not using the second floor and its wide open. I thought about using it as a banquet hall with a haunt to boot. Now people can rent the floor for their Halloween party's and use the haunt for extra entertainment.
I'll let you all know the outcome of my new endeavour. Also for the year 2011 I'm moving the haunt to Excelsior Springs, MO. I'm teaming up with The Cavern of Terror. So I hope to see you there.
Thanks for hearing me out
Andrew

Good luck. I own my own business and deal with this mentality all the time.

Good luck. Working with city officials can be pain. If somebody else hadn't ruined it by doing something stupid years ago, we wouldn't have nearly all the laws and regulations we have to abide buy.
