I opened the Sunday paper today and there's lots of candy to be seen. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why. But is it too early to buy Halloween candy now? When do YOU buy Halloween candy?

I actually bought some candy corn today. But that's for me not for TOTers!

We wait until the last week. We're into the big, full-sized Candy Bars plus the single-serving type bags of Chips. We give these out as prizes; the TOT's play a simple game to determine what they receive. This year the game is called "Toss Your Cookies". The big prizes are DVD's. We have 45 of those with another ten or so on the way from amazon.com.

Two weeks before Halloween! Walgreens usually has a buy one get one 50%off sale around that time. If I bought it any sooner; I'd eat it!
This year I'm doing candy and Sillybandz!

I have already bought some for myself. We will wait intill a couple of weeks ahead of time to get some for the tots and a small stash for us. Last year we got some great deals at walmart on large bags of candy.

We buy full sized candy bars. So we started buying them about a month ago...the last time we went to Sam's Club. They had them for a good price already, so we grabbed about 4 boxes.

I'm not a candy eater so I would normally buy it whenever I caught a good sale in September or October. But since I have moved in with my girlfriend, who would eat nothing but candy if she could, we now normally buy it the night of Halloween.

Starting in Sept., when I come across a good candy sale, I'll grab some bags and then store it in the basement so it stays o.k. until Halloween. (Also, that way, out of sight, off of thighs...)

Well, I start buying early because I send a big, and i mean BIG, bucket of assorted candy to DH work the last week of October for a Halloween Treat! I figure most of the candy is already produced by Easter and sitting on the shelves waiting to be shipped, so I think the shelf life is good to start stocking up early! I have already started buying candy for our Candy Buffet because I think that going to be a bit of an expense. Right now I have two large bags of Twizzlers and four bags of Candy Corn stashed away!
