    hi

Does anyone here spook out their Christmas decorations?

This is my 1st year making Halloween props and I am already thinking about spooking out my Dec the 25 decorations.

My thoughts for this year are:

    1) One of the best xmas stories is a GHOST story
    - Looking to reuse my MM grim reaper as ghost of xmas future. Along with
a tombstone with scrooges name on it and chicken wire scrooge.
    - A MM Jacob Marley
    - Possible a ghost of xmas present with creepy kids at his feet.

    2) The nightmare before xmas skeleton reindeer, jack and coffin sleigh

    What are other peoples idea?

As Jack said "Christmas is our this year!!"

A sinister grinch would be awesome. or a killer jack snowman. or the bad angles from the tv show supernatural.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

Nope. Christmas is the wife's favorite holiday, so as she lets me go hog wild at Halloween, I give her Christmas. Of course I still do most of the decorating, its just with a load of her input.
Its so nice to be insane, no one asks you to explain...

Oh yes! What you describe is a great idea.

With the help of some friends, back around 1991, I actually did an outdoor display featuring Scrooge's tombstone and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come pointing at it.....there was other stuff, some cute stuff...the display was done in two sides. The left side was lit cold, with blue and green, and had the spooky scene. The right side had little elf dolls, snow, and warm amber/brown lighting augmented with mini multicolored lights.

A really simple audio system (a tape that would fade up and down the left and right channels, to dispense thirty seconds of audio to each side, one side at a time) played audio from both the spooky and uplifting parts of the 1951 Alastair Sim "Scrooge" film. So if you were focusing on the way the audio was playing, the display would go from spooky, to happy, to spooky, to happy.

It was done with very little money but it worked well and entertained (and confused) the neighbors.
    "WHAT'S out there?"

"I don't know.......it was little and brown, and low to the ground!"

When my girlfriend and I were first dating in College there was this guy who would have a full "Christmas Carol" Display on his yard. He took about 6 or 7 scenes from the story and had "Stations" set up that you could walk through and look at.

The end was Scrooge and the Tombstone .. very creepy. I could see someone working that into a Christmas display and not taking away from the holiday.

I've always been misrepresented. You know, I could dress in a clown costume and laugh with the happy people but they'd still say I'm a dark personality. --Tim Burton
