My sister in law worked at one of the Halloween Adventure stores here in San Diego a couple years ago. I went into the store one day while my sister in law was working and was trying to spend $200. The person trying to ring me up that they had hired was so inept they couldn't figure out how to use the cash register (it was scan the items, tell me the total on the screen and then swipe my credit card... really pretty easy) and had to have my sister in law come over and ring me up (even though she technically wasn't supposed to) because the manager was on one of her breaks (according to my sister she'd take like 10 breaks during the day for 30+ min at a time). Shortly thereafter my sister in law got tired of the idiots working there went next door to Michael's and immediately got hired there.
I personally won't shop there anymore. I think a seasonal Halloween Company should hire enthusiastic people, who know or WANT TO KNOW more about the Holiday, and are willing to learn. I don't enjoy spending hundreds of dollars with people who could give 2 S**ts about the Holiday, and frankly shouldn't be allowed to interact with customers in the first place.
I would rather give my money to Spirit or better yet, Halloween Club in LA... If you are in the LA area, I HIGHLY recommend Halloween Club.. They have several locations, one of which is heavy on the costumes, and the other is heavy on the props/masks. Both are off the 5 freeway and within 20 minutes of each other. Its worth the drive, and they are open YEAR ROUND, although they have a TON more stuff from August-October.
Just my 2 cents. =)How many days do I have left?

That's too bad about your experience there. I've never been in one and obviously with the name it sounded like it would be an adventure - lol! I guess in your case, an unpleasant one!
I agree that people working in these stores should be more enthusiastic. Last year at my local Spirit store in Temecula - there were just a bunch of young adults (maybe even teenagers) hanging around, joking and laughing not giving a crap about any of the costumers. There were, however, some employees that were helpful so I won't knock them all!
I've also never heard of Halloween Club - but it's open year round?! I'll have to google where it is exactly. Thanks for the info!Is it Halloween yet?

halloweenclub.com check them out. We LOVE halloween club, and I make the trek several times a year from San Diego to LA just to see what's new. They have SOME stuff online, but what they have online is a pittance compared to whats in the store.... Think GIANT WAREHOUSE filled with costumes and props... props from $.99 all the way to $1500. =)

Halloween Adventure is the law of the land around my area. They aren't bad, they have pretty much the same stuff that all other Halloween places have.
