I stay so busy now I don't even get to read this forum much anymore. Its looking like there will be no Death Becomes You haunt this year, there just isn't time. I don't want to recycle the same scares and haunt again, I wanted new ideas, just no time. I will decorate the yard as usual, and hand out candy while working in scares, but no walk thru.
On the plus side, I made my first pro haunt costume. I was commissioned to make leather demon armor for one of the key characters for Arx Mortis in Killen, Alabama. While I do medieval leather work for my living, I had not yet tackled armor, so it was a new challenge, to keep it light and flexible. The owner and actor loved it, so hopefully it will open up a new thing for me, and I should have pics from the haunt before Oct. I'll post them when I get them. I took some of my own, but I want the full costume effect.

Sorry you won't be able to do your full-fledged house this year - am glad to hear you're keeping the Halloween spirit in decorating your yard. Maybe you can put more time into that.
Your costume sounds awesome. Yes, please post up pictures when you get it done!Haunt to Live ... Live to Haunt

Well, I got a sneek peek at the armor I made added to the rest of the outfit. Alas, its still a top secret pic....he is still waiting on his prosthetics to arrive. Hopefully I'll get good pics soon. Meanwhile I did get a sneak peek at the haunt I made the costume for. I have permission, so I'll post a few pics I took of their sets..Arx Mortis in Killen, Alabama.
The pics are of one of the clinic lab rooms...they have such a lovely antique bottle collection...they have HUNDREDS of these old pharmeceutical bottles...
One of the rooms...has a nice full service bar in the corner...very nice dusty corpses.
Their wine cellar is a wonderful touch...it looks so good. They did have to scale it back....too many scared patrons broke bottles backing/jumping/running into them last year...wait until they re-cobweb it...they turned the cobweb gun into an art form....
And they have made the dungeons look much better, more cave like....
I cannot wait to see this place, and my work on Lord Mautamus.
