Thread: Back to school. Next stop: Halloween!

I LOVE back-to-school, partly because I can buy a thousand nice shiny new pencils and pens and glue sticks and stuff that my kids will instantly lose, and put them in brand-spanking-new back packs that will look like they've served three consecutive tours of duty by December, and strap them over my children's backs which are covered by wonderful, crisp new polo shirts that will almost certainly give way to ripped T's in a month.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway...

Tomorrow is my little one's first day of preschool, and Tuesday is my middle one's back-to-school. IT HAS BEGUN!!! Folks, the back-to-school items are all selling out (or being shoved way back in the "regular stuff a parent is forced to buy all year" aisles) and the next stop in stores is...HALLOWEEN!!!

I know we have an in-stores thread up top, and that H'ween stuff has been cropping up all over the place, but come back-to-school, well, that's when it really steps up...I can't believe we're already almost into the autumn season...HURRAH!

Nothing much to add to that, just wanted to spread my general joy!

My daughter just started Kindergarten last Monday and during orientation they said the school does a haunted house. Looks like somebody is going to be signing up for PTA.

I have the same joy here! (Not about school, though...)

I feel the really good stuff hasn't made the sightings thread yet...or at least I hope so! I am still waiting on that big prop that everyone goes nuts trying to find and of course Walgreens selection!

Lol, I love your description Back to school always makes me think of Halloween too. But I do love the back to school sales... I stock up on notebooks, pens, pencils and erasers, & glue. I miss going to school sort of...

I love back to school because it means everybody else's kids are back in school and I can go out during school hours again!!! Our small town super-walmart seems to be the only place kids have to go and hang out during the summer or on weekends (sad, I know) and now I can grocery shop without having to work around them. Yay!

It means we are that much closer to October!!!!

My son will be going back to school in a couple of days. His school always has a Halloween themed dance some weeks before Halloween.

Every time I drop him off I stand outside the building looking through the windows for a few minutes (creepy I know) and take in the moment.

Those were the days indeed!
