Here are some pictures of my house/yard. I was wondering on ya'lls opinion on how to decorate it/haunt it? I have the full front porch to work with, just dont know how I want to go about it.

As far as current props, I really dont have much left. I build things every year.

    I agree.....

If I had that yard, I'd fence it in so that folks are forced to use the sidewalk. I'd also cover the railing on the deck so that ToTs couldn't see what's waiting up there for them

Perfect yard! You can use the tree for all kinds of things, and the covered porch could have tons of spooky stuff on it!

I see a good yard for a graveyard, there...

A covered porch, front yard with a big tree; looks like a haunters paradise to me!

Since time is short, maybe do a modest graveyard on the lawn. Even a few store bought stones and a ground breaker or two. I'd spend most of my energy on that awesome porch. It's whre the kids will come for their candy so you really can do some fun stuff there. Do you have a particular theme you're leaning towards? Are you handy? Is there a budget?

We have a porch similar to yours and two years ago we decorated it as Arachnaphobia. Floor to ceiling cobwebs, a victim or two, a few spider egg sacks, and naturally spiders of all sizes. My 29 year old daughter even let us cover her with spider webs and spiders while she was sitting in our rocking chair, and when the TOTs finally got the nerve to go up on the porch, she would reach out to them moaning and whimpering. We go some many compliments that night, and for days after. It was great and really didn't take a lot of capital to do.

I definitely think your yard is made for a graveyard, too, because it is so flat.

Here's what comes to mind for me.

    1. Fence in the grass and make it a graveyard. There are tutorials on here for making the fence and the tombstones.

    2. Hang skeletons in nooses off the tree.

    3. Hang fake vines from the tree.

    4. Drape jute fabric over your handrails on the porch and/or from the roof. You can get jute fabric at Home Depot and stores with gardening centers.

    5. Drape creepy cloth on virtually anything (your gate, the tombstones, the walls of your home, etc.). You can get it at Michaels.

    6. Use blue/red/green lighting. You can get the bulbs and fixtures at Wal-Mart.

Love your yard and porch- you should have a bevy of bats flying up and out from the porch. Everyone else had great ideas, you can really do something special with that tree. Dramatic lighting is a must and that creepy cloth stuff is great.

Awesome, thanks for the replies everyone!

    To start off:

-Budget is a yes. Cheaper the better. If I can make it myself then I will over buying something.

-To add to the budget, my girlfriend and I are both students. On a better note though, I work at Lowes and she works at Michaels.

-Am I handy? You will have to define that, haha! I can do woodworking, weld, etc etc. In my opinion, yes, im handy.

-The theme I think id like to go for is a "massacre".

What id like to do with the porch: I love to cover the entire thing in black plastic, and have to kids go in at the steps and have to go all the way to the end of the porch for they're candy. I will draw up an illustration of what im talking about and post it later.

In the tree I definitely want to hang a few of the dripping heads and other limbs if I can pull those off. I already have the burlap to make the sack too. http://davelowe.blogspot.com/2010/07...-dripping.html

Along with that id like to have bodies and body parts etc scattered out across the yard. Add some tombstones and a fence and I think it would look awesome, like a cemetery massacre.

It would be awesome to have a burlap masked killer standing on the roof or in that bush next to the porch. What I mean by a masked killer is like a scarecrow, kind of like the pumpkin rot figures but basically a figure made out of PVC(?) and a dressed in like a robe or whatever, face covered in a burlap sack mask, with a knife or something in his hand(s)? I know I have seen something that resembled a lot like what I want, just cant find it right now.

I do have a fog machine, and I figured make a fog chiller and let it disperse across the lawn?

Opinions on this? Maybe some tutorials on some of this?

    Thanks a ton!
