Do you believe in any halloween tales, myths, stories, ect? For example, the minute halloween starts( 12am) three goblins run across the pumpkin patch?

As much as I love Halloween, haunted houses, ghost stories, etc. I am probably the world's biggest skeptic, so I guess my answer would be no. I don't believe in any of it but for me the fun of Halloween is the "make believe" aspect anyway!

I read one in a magazine when I was a kid.. You're supposed to walk around your house three times, backwards and counterclockwise, before sunset on Halloween to ward off evil spirits.
You better believe I did it that year! I've tried to remember each year since, just because it's fun

Well, lets not get crazy. If someone told me that they believed a Goblin ran across their yard at the stroke of midnight, I would look at them like they had three heads. I wouldn't consider myself a skeptic, I would consider myself sane. lol
Anyways. I do love those stories. My screen name, Dullahan, is actually an Irish Fairie, not like tinkerbell fairie, like a demon. My grandpa always used to tell me that if I wasn't good Dullahan was going to come and take me away. He said that Dullahan would ride all nights but Halloween most of all.
He carried his rotting head under his arm, and would whip his big black horse with a human spine that he had taken from one of his victims. He is kinda like a cross between the Grim Reaper and Headless Horseman. If he blocks your path on halloween night, that means within the year you were going to die. If you looked at Dullahan or tried to follow him, he would pull your eyes out and feed them to his horse ... or he we drag you back to his hut in the woods and drown you in a pool of blood.
Imagine, a old man telling a 7 year old kid these stories because he didn't clean his room LOL
Legend has it, Dullahan is afraid of Gold. When I graduated Highschool years ago my grandpa gave me a gold watch with a card that said, "It will protect you from Dullahan."
So if you're walking around on Halloween night and you hear the clap of horse hooves walking in the shadows you better turn and walk the other way.
