Halloween City Locations -- formerly Halloween USA

I had never heard of HALLOWEEN CITY until today. We went for lunch and saw that they are renting out space from an old Circuit City location. Their signage said they are "Hiring Now". This will be competition for Spirit Halloween in our area, who has been the dominant specialty store for some time.

Anyway, Halloween City doesn't have a website up yet, just a referral site to the job openings they will have. However by checking out the places where the jobs are you know in which cities they will be opening their stores. Here's a list of the states in case you live in one of them and haven't seen any signage out yet.

AL (2)
CA (118)
CO (36)
CT (8)
FL (60)
GA (22)
ID (10)
IL (58)
IN (30)
KY (14)
MI (76)
MO (20)
NJ (28)
NV (8)
NY (34)
OH (74)
PA (20)
SC (4)
TX (52)
UT (22)
WA (24)
WI (14)
WV (4)

Here's a quick link to the HC website as little as it is right now: Halloween City If you click on the current job listings you can scan throught the cities listed by state.

Halloween USA changed their name to Halloween City because Party City is their parent company. This will be my second year working for them (Halloween City), I'll be a store manager this year. They are trying to open most of the stores around Labor Day, but I wouldn't expect most of them to open until closer to the middle of Sept. We are working at setting up stores and getting merchandise in and on the racks. Most associates won't be able to start work until the week of Labor Day, but assistant managers will be hired within the next couple of weeks.
Working there is fun, however............ you can expect it to be mandatory to work on Halloween. If you get hired, try to ask the manager to work you the opening shift, that way you can be done around 4 or so and be home in time for TOTs. We like to have employees who love Halloween, know their merchandise, and have great ideas to help our customers.
Good luck to those of you whoe are trying to get a job. If any of y'all are in the Lewisville TX area, come by and see me (Kathi Bittick-Stokes) around the end of August, or you can fill out an app on Snagajob.com.

I live very close to Lewisville! Is the Halloween City going to be right down from Target and Party City like it (Halloween USA) was last year?

You can expect to see me quite often this year. :)

Stochey: no, the Halloween City will be across Hebron right next to Garden Ridge. It's in the old Best Buy store. Come in and see me once we are open, and make sure to tell me you're on Halloween Forum (might be able to work a discount for you!) : )

BackYardHaunter: Party City and Halloween City have almost the same merchandise. You won't find exactly the same stuff in any of the stores due to carryover of last years merch. Party City has some different costumes and props, but the prices are really the same.
