I picked up a copy of Better Homes & Gardens' "Halloween Tricks & Treats" issue, and I gotta say, I was happily surprised. There were several creative articles, my favorite being "The Dead & Breakfast Inn". Granted, I don't happen to have several life-size Buckies or vintage bedframes lying around, but I did find the article very inspiring. Here's a peek:

Another great article is "Welcome All Spirits", which comes with recipes and instructions on how to make this beauty, a Coffin Buffet:

Thanks for posting pictures - I'm going to see if I can find that magazine around here . I just bought the butler a couple of weeks ago!

That butler's really nice - is it from Dept. 56?

No, the butler is made by Gag Studios. I got mine from ebay - he's even better looking in person, he shakes but doesn't make any noise. My husband liked him so much that he said why don't you go ahead and buy the matching maid. At first I thought he was joking and I ignored it. The next day he said it again - so I bought the maid as well. Who really needs a new kitchen floor? So what if the vinyl tiles are lifting - it just makes the house look spooky!
If you google "Dobson the butler" and "Sadie the maid" you'll find the props. Frightners Entertainment sells them and they were great to deal with. (I got the maid from them)

I saw it but walked right past it... I guess because I was not impressed with last years BH&G mag... It does look somewhat interesting though for 2010!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..
"The Many Faces of Fear!" New for 2012!

Cool pics! Thanks for posting. Looks like a keeper of a magazine if I can find it.
I wonder why they didn't think to embroider "His and Hearse" on the pillows? That's what I would hve done.
