Okay, folks. I already have this year's theme planned out and I don't want to change it, but the candy thread got me thinking for 2011, and...A Nostalgic Hallowe'en it is!!! I am going to pick up some Beiste (sp?) cutouts if I can before that time, and will give out tons of nostalgic candy.
Sorry, I was excited and had to share!

I think that is a great idea. Give the kids a sense of what Halloween used to be like. I always try to hand out a lot of nostalgic candy. The Necco wafers, Mary Janes, etc.

Thanks, you guys. I figure the parents will "get it," at least the over-30 parents, you know? And they'll be like, "Oh my gosh...I remember those wax lips..." LOL...I think it will be good times!

I occasionally get the same thing, but not because of the candy. It's generally the music I play, (apologies to those of you who have heard this for the umpteenth time)
Most everyone whose displays/haunts are on YouTube are playing something from 'Nightmare Before Christmas', or 'Pirates of the Carribean' (sp?) etc. I play an assortment, including songs like 'Dead Man's Party', Black Magic Woman', She Me With Science', 'Frankenstein' and so on.
The TOT's for the most part don't get it, but every once in a while, like last year, for instance, I happened to spy a couple of the moms and dads, waiting foe their kids out in the street, start to 'groove' to the 'oldies but ghoulies'. Naturally, the kids get back in the street and give looks of confusion/embarrassment/disgust at their parents 'weird' behavior... LOL
I'm at that awkward stage in life... Somewhere between 'Annoying Fanboy' ...and 'Dirty Old Man'...
