Well you could get some foam sheets (i guess sheets lol kinda like huge blocks) you can cut out some tombstones. Also for a more green path you can take clothes that you don't wear anymore and make scarecrows. Lawn can grow out a bit to give it a more abandoned look (but since its August the grass dies which also looks great). A few pieces of foam painted can act as boards for the windows.
There are so many things you can do, I'm not on here a lot because After school/work its late and I'm tired. But you can find some great ideas just by searching this site, also youtube probably has some instructional videos. Hope this helps! What show are you working on, and when does it air?

Sandy, that's an awesome gig you have. I record all the Halloween specials on TV and last year really enjoyed the Block Party episode. I'll have to think of some ideas for you, but I would be glad to donate a copy of my Halloween book "The Watching" as a background piece on a table or bookshelf somewhere. Check out the cover art and you'll see what I mean. The artwork is a beautiful piece in itself, capturing the flavor of the holiday. Jill Bauman did the cover art and has done work for Reader's Digest, Stephen King, and countless other markets. I posted a thread about a sale going on now in the "announcement" section here.

Wow, that's very cool! Like Bloodyteeth said, you can find a ton of stuff searching through the old threads (I end up doing that about once a week). But we could probably help narrow it down for you if we had a less general query - ie. indoor or outdoor, specific theme or "feel" (elegant, creepy, cute, etc), anything else you think would be helpful.

Hope you'll let us know when it's set to air!

A backless bookcase, backlit, filled with glass jars with different colored "potions." You can put spooky labels on some, and objects in others.

Yes where is it at.. I love HGTV.
**They help pay my rent and support my love of Halloween** LOL.
I live in Sevierville, and I am Big in to Halloween and yes I work there too.
So if there is anything I can come up with let me know. We started out by decorating the Civic Center for a benefit for the Sevier County Humane Society and then We decorated our Cabin for past few few years and now we have a new place in a subdivision just behind the High School.
Check out some of the Props I made over the years.
