Our very first Halloween was pretty simple by "our" standards. We did spiderwebs, black plastic on walls, lights, a couple tombstones, etc... we even bought one of those "haunted house kits" from Kmart that include caution tape, and spiders. ;-)
A couple we got was this giant spider that was basically a bunch of garbage bags, and a giant inflatable bat.
Each year, our stuff got waaaay more detailed (and expensive), but we always found a spot for those cheesy props.
Do any of y'all find a spot for stuff like that?
Here are pics from that first year!

Nope. lol
I have to admit, last year I went thru and tossed out alot of the cheaper props I still had.“Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? To the very toes he is terrified, because the ground gives way under him, and the dream begins.”

I suppose we all have kept some of them. What the heck....cheezy props are better than no props.

I don't have cheesy props but I do have a candle and a plush that are far too "kiddy" for my tastes. The candle is from my childhood - Mom sent it with me when I moved out. It's a cutesy ghost wearing a witch hat. The colors are chipping off and it's all beat up but I just can't get rid of it. The plush is, again, a ghost. It giggles and says "Happy Halloween" when you squeeze it. My Papaw Bill gave it to me years ago because I love Halloween so much. He passed away a few years ago. While they don't fit my decorating style I will always find a place for them!

There's no earthly way of knowing Which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a blowing?

It really depends on the props, but I absolutely keep some of my older stuff for sentimental value! I actually enjoy cheesy props
I don't buy them so much anymore, but my Halloween party theme is Ghosts of Halloweens Past this year, based on childhood memories of Halloween. So I'm going to be sure to include some of those goofy/cheap props I used to love as a kid!

I still have a lot of the silly stuff I bought when my kids were little, like a plush vampire wearing boxers and a ceramic light up "spooky tree" that really isn't very spooky at all. I display it all proudly!
