I had such a traumatic experience today at the thrift store. I went to check out the Halloween items, and there really wasn't too much to choose from in that aisle. So I started looking around the store for other items. The whole time I was shopping, there was this incredibly annoying woman on a bluetooth headset that you couldn't see. So it just looked like she was talking to herself. Very loudly. And she kept popping up wherever I was in the store and it was just annoying.
Anyway.. while I'm looking for a skirt and jacket set to make a costume to wear to go see The Birds this weekend, I see the annoying crazy woman walking to the registers with a HUGE jack-o-lantern blowmold.
I just about cried. That's exactly the kind of thing I go to thrift stores and yard sales to find. I kept watching her, hoping she would set it down. But she never did. And there it went.
The saddest part is that she didn't have it the first time I saw her. So there was a period of about 20 minutes where if I had seen it first it would have been mine. *sigh*
I just had to share my horrible story with some people who could appreciate my sadness![]()

I know what it's like to be a moment too late for a good buy so I feel for you as well.

I once stalked a woman around a goodwill for about a half hour hoping she would put back this huge gothic candelabra that we had literally reached for at the same time and she grabbed first. But, sadly, she bought it. So, i definitely feel your pain.

Keep your head up! Just as this opportunity presented itself, another shall fall into your lap when least expected. This will be your prevailing score to flaunt/showcase here at the HF as well! Think positive!

I had a close moment like that a month ago at a yard sale. As I pulled up to a sale on a corner lot I saw a huge jack o lantern and a scarecrow blowmold in a yard. I saw a man crossing the other cross street pointing at them and talking to his wife who is dragging behind him. I jumped into action turned off my car in the middle of the road and stopped traffic. I ran into the yard and grabbed both of them like a vulture! I felt bad for about a second but now that I own them I feel good

Moral of the story is V gan today you were the prey but next time you will be the vulture.

Wow, you guys have such a way of turning things around and making things positive. I love it here.
I'm sure I'll find another blowmold sometime soon.
