When is your trick or treat? They do ours on a Sunday afternoon from 1 till 3. Kind of takes away some of the suspense and fun from the day. I guess they have safety in mind. What does everybody else do with their haunts that is in this situation?

Our city runs theirs from 6-8 p.m. on Halloween. It doesn't get totally dark until about 6:45 but the effect isn't lost.

Fortunately, I live in a place where "they" don't tell when you can or can't trick or treat. If it ever comes to that, I may have to find a new hobby.

Our TOTs also do it on Halloween, but there is a TOT curfew. There are usually a few out later. Usually older ones.

I start putting out decorations in early October. The small high risk items that may "grow legs" don't go out until Halloween unless we host a party. If there is a party, I make sure that, after the party, the small stuff comes in until Halloween.
Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

    1-3...that would suck major league.

The say 6-8 here, but some ToTs show up earlier and some show up later. Bought 9:30/10:00 I start bringing all the valuables in the house. Two years ago, there was a crappy weather forecast and I was going out of town a couple days later, so my son and I tore down everything and got it in the garage in about an hour. Days of setting up and an hour to get done....of course when I got back home from my trip, I had to drag every thing back out of the garage and get it stored properly....that took a few days

I can never figure out why some townships here have TOT on ANY day other than Halloween! What fun is that? And especially during the day...that's horrible! I usually get a few TOT's before it gets dark, and I think to myself, "What the heck is wrong with you people? Are you just trying to get around to as many houses as you can, or are you that scared to come when all the spooks come out - in the true darkness?"

Trick or treat happens on Halloween night and usually starts at dusk and ends when we run out of candy. That is the traditional time and date. Who is the big brother that is deciding when your trick or treat is? I would tell my "township" to kiss my $%&!
Its so nice to be insane, no one asks you to explain...

Can I ask a question? How do you all know your TOT town days already??? I have searched our town site and it doesn't even mention TOT-in-town yet (I'm assuming that will be on Friday, since it was last year); much less TOT around neighborhoods.

Last year TOT in the neighborhoods was on the actual day, but I worry a little because people are talking about how some towns just won't specifically do it on Sundays.

I would feel like a moron calling my town in August to ask what day neighborhood TOTing will be............
