I know they are on the expensive side, but they usually have a cool prop or two!

Check out the videos of some of the items!

    Interesting.

Moreso than the props and decor is the overall color scheme.
(forgive the following, I've been paying way too much attention to this sort of thing lately, but enough of you are into decor, so...)

Curious things afoot in the color trends.
I note this because Grandin Road is one of the more forward, classier seasonal decor suppliers. If they make a choice on color pallette, it is because they did market research.

I'm noticing more silver, gray and charcoal in a lot of Halloween goods, a lean towards the stark and gothic, I suppose.

Also seeing the traditional black & orange theme expand - oranges are now warmer, not bright and fluorescent, but more coppery, rusty, even terra cotta shades.
In addition, a lot more burgundy, purple, lavender, aqua and teal, and classic sickly green is being used in Halloween products.

Halloween, at least in the world of art, fashion and marketing trends, seems to be growing up.
Looks like designers are treating it as seriously as Christmas.

    I like that idea.

In the design industry there is something called color forecasting I think it's called. Colors are chosen that will be used in the upcoming years. Fabric, paint, and houseware items, etc. will generally follow the trend colors. I wouldn't be surprised if halloween items aren't also influenced by this. The last few years have seen a lot of glitter and I'm still seeing it this year on halloween decor items.

They're stuff looks wonderful, I wish we had products like this over here. They do international shipping but it always works out so expensive (sobs)

I love the Life-size Cloaked Halloween Grim Reaper they sell

I agree they do have some nice stuff. I also agree with Spats regarding the idea of market research. Gardinroad does have some very eye catching color and pattern choices. I am sure it helps them sell at those inflated prices.

I'm not that fond of the glitter for some reason. It's almost like they toss glitter onto everything now. More=better to them.

A few years ago it was repro vintage 20s-40s era inspired items everywhere, the last few years it's been more generic gothic, purples, grey, gunmetal, glitter & silver, a little more "upscale" look in the mass market items.

Personally, I prefer the vintage repro stuff, but the newer trends would pull in non-hardcore decorators/haunters, they get a broader audience that wants something seasonal but not too scary. My MIL may buy a silver candlestick or a glittered pumpkin, but never a scary groundbreaker.

Give it a few years, it'll be something else.

I use the Grand In Road Halloween Haven as a model for some of my stuff....everything they have can be duplicated by the home haunter much, much cheaper and with a little sweat (not to mention blood and tears as well)! They did have a realy nice quality jointed skeleton two years ago and they were a huge clearence item last year early as they transitioned into RCAIGs favorite glittery skeletons lol. I didn't realize how nice they were and bought one on a whim (see the latex carpet adhesive corpse in the props section) and when I got it went back to get several more and they were all sold out. Like a barney but much more solid material.

I love Grandin Road. It's a little too expensive for me, though, unless I buy the clearance.
