So after 12 years in my first house, we are moving. My Fiance and I have spent the last year working nonstop getting both of our houses sold so we could move into a new home together. We will actually be in our new house October 1st. On one hand I am a little sad about leaving the neighborhood because we have had such a great run here. This last year I was interviewed by a local paper and we had people that weren't even from the area stopping by just to see my display. I can't help to feel bad for all of the tots that will come this year only to find that Spider Hill is gone. Some of the neighbors have already joked that I need to come back and put up a sign with our new address on it.

On the other hand we are moving to a great neighborhood and into a much bigger house. We will have a really nice yard, and there is even a bay window. The night we looked at the house we actually got to meet the owners. As we were talking, I did remember to ask how many kids they get. She said 200 +. On our best year here, we might have seen 130.

I really have not had any time to build anything new this year. Moving in so close to the 31st, it is going to be hard to do a huge display, but we are still going to try to pull something off that will break in our new neighbors right.

Well look at the bright side, you get to move to another house. Not an apartment or condo that has limitations. I think you will do just fine! Best of luck to you!

We moved into our last house (officially) on October 24th. It can be done!

I initially wasn't going to decorate, but ended up putting out a lot of stuff.

It can be done! I moved into my first house last year just a few days before Halloween. That was just getting stuff from A to B, not even unpacking. You have a whole month I think we got most everything inside by the 28th or 29.

I managed to put up a few tombstones and a fence piece, put up a few room roll sections to hide the mess inside (made like a mini hallway by hanging the sheets from the ceiling. ) setup my shaking skelly guy just inside the door and that was it. I did this an hour or 2 before dark and craved to do more but there just wasnt enough time.

Still, I got alot of comments about just moving in, how did I set up "all this" so fast ect. I laughed because they thought that pittance of decor was "alot". Wait till they see this year!

My current house is a ranch with no basement and 2 attics, so every bit of Halloween stuff has to be lugged up and down out of the attic. Not fun. at the new place I'll have a 16'x 16' room in the basement for storage. I think I am just as excited about having year round, easy access to my props as I am about getting a new house in general.

All of your things will be new to the 200+ TOT's that come the new house. As you said, break in the neighborhood in style. Spider Hill can live on and you'll have a whole new following. The kids will love having a new Halloween House to visit each year, and what do you bet your numbers will double in a few years! Congrats on the new place and have fun getting re-established!

One good thing is that almost all of my Halloween stuff is very well packed up already. Most of it in bins, so moving it will be fairly easy. I've already got my eye on some nice heavy duty shelving for my new space.

Thanks, it was no small feat. It actually took about a year to sell her home and a mere 3 days to sell mine. A couple of months back we both thought everything might never come together, now everything is cruising along.

I will make sure that is safe. We are still working on The Spider Hill site in the background. Had hoped to have launched it by now, but want to make sure I do it right and have the time to devote to it. You're still tops on my list to see some of the new parts.

Thanks, I am really looking forward to starting over at the new place. I have plenty of props to get me through this year and as you said, it will be all new to this neighborhood so it gets me off the hook at least until next year. Actually looking forward to this off season as I have a lot of new stuff bouncing around in my head I'd like to get built.
