Just wondering if anyone has ever set up a cam for their Halloween event, haunt or party or just the trick-or-treaters that come and go? I was thinking about doing it this Halloween but not sure what I need for software. Any ideas suggestions?

Thought about it. Never did it. I am afraid of what it might broadcast as the night progressed and the "spirits" came out in full.

Funny you should mention this because yesterday we had a short brain storm session at a birthday party about our haunted house and someone brought up that we should video tape the trip through the attraction and i said "Let's put up a static night vision camera in each scene so we can see the reaction we get" and then we'll make a highlight reel and put it on youtube for the purpose of enjoyment and advertising. I was like YES!!!!!! I can't wait.
remember it takes a twisted s.o.b. to scare the hell out of someone....................

This will be my first year using a Q-see 8 channel DVR system from costco at my haunt. Hope it all goes well and captures decent video. They record in higher resolutions(720 max) on 4 of the 8 cameras so it should be ok!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

I've run a cheap, static video camera in the yard for the last 5 or 6 years. I use the ones that come with the long wire and just hook it to a VCR.
It's always fun to go back and watch it just to re-live the big night. And sometimes catch things I might have missed.

We are thinking of getting some cameras for security, but it would also be nice to go back and look at the fun costumes and the reactions we got. Maybe watch the tape when we're feeling blue through the year.
