What does everyone's neighborhoods look like ? Do others decorate as much as you or are you the only one ?
My neighbors across the street from me love to compete, we always try to outdo each other every year which makes it so much funI also have someone who lives down my street who has a GREAT set-up, I'm pretty sure he has built everything himself as well. He told me last year he hopes to eventually extend his haunt so it goes from the front of his yard to his back. I'll have to take some pics of his house this year!
Anyways let's hear from everyone else![]()

The first year we moved into my neighborhood we did a garage haunt and had the house and front yard decorated somewhat with cobwebs and store bought grave stones. There was a guy down the street that decorated his garage a little and had a cot with a dummy on it. We blew him away. A couple of other people decorate their yards but not much. The two years after we did the garage we started doing the haunt in the back yard and its been a big hit. A couple of people in the neighborhood who try to do a little more than average always come buy to scope out what I am doing. But for the most part its a couple of tombstones, a few inflatables and a witch or two.

The area where I live, Halloween seems to be on the downslide, unfortunately; I think there were maybe 2 other houses down the street that put out any kind of decorations. Most people didn't even bother to hand out candy...which explains why there were so few TOT's and why the ones that went (as well as their parents) were quite disappointed

I think I am lucky because a large majority of my neighborhood is military so they are from all over the country and are frequently moving in and moving out. There is always a new group driving by real slow. Last year the family across the street was having a Church meeting at their house and were outside praying in a circle in the front yard as I was putting my graveyard up.

@Johnson724: Glad to see people have been influenced by your haunt, always a nice to see the Halloween spirit being spread! Kind of how it started out in my neighborhood.
@Garthgoyle: Sorry to hear that, hopefully it will pick back up! I don't know what I'd do if things started going downhill around my neighborhood

In this neighborhood, I am IT unless you count the house down the street that becomes Inflatable City for every holiday. It's too bad too because we get a ton of trick or treaters, always have. Unfortunately, that will not be the case for too many more years I'm afraid, as fewer and fewer home owners participate. I know if I were still walking my kids around, I wouldn't bother with a neighborhood where more than 50% of the houses were dark on halloween.
