i happened to be walking down the pet aisle at walmart today and noticed that had great skulls with the fish tank stuff. i would have never thought to look in that department, but will definitly be getting some of them. They were under $4 and at great size and good details. I should have taken a picture, but forgot.
Hope this tip is useful

Thanks hauntfordad. I hope that walmart has a better show of props and accessories this year. Will check out the skulls.

Sorry fellows, but my mom works for wal-mart and heard that they were thinking costumes only, if that. They keep changing their minds. Bout as dumb as when they got rid of layaway. Most of our stores around here (and their is 8-9 in a 50 mile radius, even one 2 miles down the highway from where my mom works I kid you not) doesn't even have fabric anymore. I've only seen one so far that still has fabric. They're are remodeling this year and the place is awful...for example, the store my mom works at now only has three fitting rooms, and the pharmacy is going right in the middle of a smaller ladies wear, lingerie, and shoes. Crafts in a little corner out in what used to be the garden center (no longer available). This store is also getting a theater, only playing PG and under movies.
AWEFUL!!! My mom has been out with foot surgery for the past 4 months on count of foot surgery and she's almost to the point she doesn't want to go back everything is so aweful."We accommodate the living, but who shall accommodate the dead?"
"We say haunted, but we mean the house has gone insane."

Si-cotik hope that your Mom mends fast. My store also got rid of the fabrics dept. I miss it cause I would get the light weight white fabric for my ghosts and other material at a great price. I loved that store but when they did the remodeling it has never been the same. The silk flowers have been cut back and the craft items as well. I got so much from the dollar store last year for my party and I saved alot. I am going to revamp what I already have and make some more props. It is time to get creative and look at normal things in an evil way lol!

I was really disappointed in the selection at WalMart last year, so with all the stores converting to the new layout, I figured the Halloween offerings would continue to underwhelm this year.

I live near four different supercenters, and only one still has the old layout and a large fabric department. Needless to say they are getting ALL my business these days. The new stores have decimated the crafts department and the only fabric they carry is those fat quarter packs - fine if you're a quilter, but alas I am NOT. Yeah, the aisles are roomier at the "upgraded" stores, and things are generally neater and more color-coordinated. But if you don't have what I'm looking for, I don't care how aesthetically pleasing your displays are, I'm going somewhere else to spend my money! I only wish we still had K-mart stores here in the DFW area. Bah (Boo) Humbug!

Fortunately they haven't upgraded either of the walmarts near me yet. Both still have garden, still have stuff where it belongs, and still have their fabric area. Crafts and Floral have been underwhelming for a couple of years now, so when I need that stuff I head to Michaels (My sister in law works for Michaels, so I get better discounts that most people). on a positive note My Michaels put out their fall floral and a bunch of funkin pumpkins this week... lol. I don't expect Walmart to have anything more than a few lame decorations and candy anymore. I shop there for laundry soap and cat litter, definitely not for halloween decor!
How many days do I have left?
