So my theme this year is witches based off the fact i was an an antique weekend a couple months ago and agreed to purchase a 3ft cast iron cauldron from this guy but it was back at his shop 4 hours away and he said he could get one of his friends that travels my way frequently to throw it on a load to save me gas money from driving to pick it up.. Well the guy emails me today saying he couldnt find anyone so he sold it local .... (aka... he prob made more money on it) im so ticked as it was goin to be the center point of my yard this year. Sorry had to vent...
Anyone know where i can get a huge cast iron cauldron from?

Every antique store around here has at least one. No kidding they're that common. Flea markets usually have them also. Did you just stumble upon it or had you been actively looking for one? Had you paid for that cauldron?

Paint a huge plant pot holder. That is what I am using for my witches.

You could always make one out of a plastic barrel cut down with spray foam around the top edge for safety and of course that ooze look...Paint it all black and the foam/ooze green....Smoke machine with some lights inside....I saw someone on here that made one that looked terrific....Even had the motor inside to make the witch "stir" the pot....I know it's probably not the answer your looking for but don't let anything stand in your way....Good Luck....ZR

No I'm serious. They are popular around here because people put them in their yards and plant flowers in them. In fact I saw one two weeks ago in an antique store. Also, alot of the time they have stands. I don't know why but they seem plentiful here. My grandmother had one and actually used it to make hominy outside over an open fire. It was very large cause everyone had to take turns stirring it. Maybe it's because there is alot of rural area around here and there are alot of household auctions of people that were my grandmother's age. And yes they are that big. If you are ever going to be around Nashville, let me know and I'll look around for you. I don't know how much the one was you found but around here the average seems to be about 200.00.
