Thread: What Do You Hand Out?

What (if anything) besides candy do you guys hand out to the trick or treaters? Glow Sticks, small toys, snacks, drinks? I'm curious. I handed out candy and glow sticks last yr but part of me would like to do something different. We had so many people last yr though I imight have to hire some help. LOL I'm curious in hearing what you all do!

Edited to say: I should have been more specific. I would never ever think of not handing out candy! Just wondering what I could add to the mix!

I've been living where no kids TOT, although by this Halloween I will be in a nice house in KC, in a nice neighborhood. With that said, and being a child of the 70's, does any kid really expect or want anything other than candy? I cant imagine it. I could very well be wrong, but I'd stick with the candy, thats what kids want. Unless you can hand out video games?

you pretty much named them all. But at Walmart Halloween time in the Halloween aisle they ususally sells Halloween theme Fruit-Roll up. My family go through them like crazy. So that might be something you want to try if nothing else.

I have handed out candy along with glow bracelets the past 2 years. I've had a ToT range of 40 to 120 kids each year over the last 5 years.

When I do a pirates haunt I'll be going with the "Be a Pirate!" theme and giving out black eye patches (picked up a lot on clearance one year).

This past year I picked up on clearance a dozen or so of Fred & Friends' GID Skull Key Covers (came in a set of 6) and I was thinking of handing those out one year (hopefully a bit useful as well).

I was thinking for my zombie circus/carnival theme I might hand out helium filled balloons (OT had some I liked, black with a white skull on them) and/or I might have some other kind of circus related item as a prize maybe or popcorn as a handout if they want.

We pass out a hot wheel and candy to all the kids. Passed out 261 hot wheels last year. Been this way for 5 years and always gets bigger. This year is going to be a little different. Still a hot wheel and candy to ever kid but if you go through my haunt you get a extra hot wheel.

Candy is a must have for all TOT'S.
Last year we had about 9 bags of candy and a bunch of halloween activity books that we got from wal-mart. They were a huge hit to our suprise.

This year I'm thinking of going with something else. Just not sure what yet.

Those Skull Key Covers are cool looking! Where is your house again? I'd like to come by on Halloween and get one .

I love the idea of handing out something extra if you brave the haunt! I may have to try that one!

I'm liking the bonus treat for going through the haunt, too. The way I'm set up, that means I can get my live actoring on, add some scares, and give out extra treats within eyesight of the ToTs who run right up the walkway to the front door.

Now what to toss out for a movie theater-themed haunt. I think I'll dig through some custom products (like rubber bracelets and the like) and see what I can come up with.
