I'm sure this has been talked about before, but I just saw it for the first time this year and it is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. It was only one store so far that I've actually seen Halloween stuff going up (other places are already putting up their fall stuff, though). It was a Hallmark store. I just thought, it's kind of wrong to put Halloween stuff up in July, but I love Halloween stuff so I'll go just have a look at it.

Then I saw... it. Christmas ornaments. CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS!!! I then left the store.

What flaming ---- spread this hellspawned idea to put up the XMas crap at the same time as they start bringing out the Halloween decorations? WHY? It literally makes me feel sick. This must be brought to an end!

Yes well because of the economy guess their great marketeers (sarcasm) figure sooner the more sales they will make. Thing is I already boycot Mothers, Fathers, and Valentine days as a marketing play for them to try to sell me their crap (or anyone else for that matter). A phone call saying as much to me will suffice.

But generally if I see such a blantant marketing attempt I make it a personal point to NOT shop for anything related with the holiday with that merchant or anything else for the rest of the year (did as much with Montgomery Ward... hmmm not seen one of those around in several years LOL).

I'm pretty sure Hobby Lobby will have all their Christmas Ornaments out by August too. Why, cuz they want to beat the other guy to your wallet.

I don't think it's a big deal, as there are lots of things that are more abundant at Christmas like lights and extension cords that you can use for Halloween and some stores will have some great sales in September/October on Christmas stuff that you can use for Halloween. And places like Lowes have dumped Halloween inventory before mid-October to make room for Christmas, so it's too our advantage to actually get sales before Halloween for stuff we can use this year.

Hobby Lobby does already have X-Mas stuff out with the fall collection. But they also had great 90% off on a lot of items that can be converted for Halloween use. We just came home with a bunch of items from them.

Majority of the people who shop at Hallmark are more "mature" and they tend to love Christmas items much more than Halloween ones. They just want to sell. Also, I think its either Hallmark or American Greetings that has ornaments out all year round. Theirs are collectors items. They have Halloween ones too!

Also guys, let's be honest. Christmas is a much bigger holiday than Halloween. There are more fans of that Holiday since it's all love/family/religion/ etc and Halloween gets a bad rap for being scary/devilish/etc. The stores just want to do whatever will get them more money.
