Longtime lurker and halloween yard haunter here...love this place. You all are great.
I shop alot online b/c I live in a very isolated area. I don't have a Michaels, etc
I would like to know how much my fellow haunters are gonna spend this Halloween?
I feel like I spend too much each year...but I love Halloween so much.
I usually papier mache tons of stuff like pumpkins and paint them...get clothes from the thrift store for clothes for props...
this year I bought a Bucky skeleton from ebay for 115.00 with shipping. I told myself that would be my big purchase.
I was online a Target today and saw a new cool animated witch, and a 5' foot coffin, and a Grave Guardian, and a hovering ghost... I want it all!
So chime in and tell me what your plans are this year! Thanks guys!

When it comes to halloween I don't budget at all. I just won't pay a ridiculous price for something if I don't think it's worth it and if it's clearanced....I buy it whether I need it or not

No real budget, I spend what I need to spend to complete the project properly. If I can "get away" with making it on my own or scavenging it, I will. I also ask all the time, "is this really necessary" or "can I get the same effect another way?". Yes, I ask to many questions.

Budgets never stick on a great hobby
"We accommodate the living, but who shall accommodate the dead?"
"We say haunted, but we mean the house has gone insane."

I kept a spreadsheet on all my Halloween related purchases last year. It's amazing how fast it adds up...so this year, I decided not to track it so I won't feel guilty about it.

Budgets only get you in trouble with your wife. My spending is more of a secret than the codes for the nukes!

Help, help, I'm being repressed! Am I the only one with a budget? My husband is only giving me $100 cash to spend. He says I spend too much on Halloween and we can't afford any more than that. So it's going to be paper mache this year, if I have the time. I'm in a new neighborhood, so no one here has seen my props, so I can pretend they are new!

I feel like a wierdo... I am a woman who wold rather spend bucks on props, making props, etc, than fancy clothes or getting my hair done up.
Don't get me wrong...I am not a hobo or anything. But I would MUCH rather spend my fun money on an animated witch than a leather purse.
PS they have a new animated witch at Taget online. She is the Gemmy cauldron witch in face, but she has a new outfit. woo hoo hells yeah I bought her...she's 130.00.
I know some people's haunts I have seen online have to cost thousands.
