So I'm new here and tend to read posts more than actually posting. But I like a lot of you is getting the itch for fall and Halloween. It's about the whole season and not just that one day for me. As I've read I noticed a lot of people are the same way. So as a quick fix until late Sept and October I'd like to suggest a book called October Dreams-A celebration of Halloween by . You can find it on Amazon. It's a huge compilation of halloween related stories and memories from various authors. It does a great job of getting me through these 90 degree North Jersey summer days and it atleast tricks my head into feeling like it's fall. Hope you guys enjoy this book, and that it gets you through the crappy summer season.

I might have to check this out! I was just thinking this morning as I was checking the boards about getting some sort of Halloween-related book - or book of scary stories. Thanks for the suggestion!
Is it Halloween yet?

The book is easily the best option, its over 600 pages long and has at least 40 stories. There are also small inserts of the authors favorite halloween memories. I read it little by little whenever i need a fall pick me up. All the stories have been good so far and it wasn't expensive either. I'd also suggest The Halloween Tree. Thats a classic.

that sounds like it would really hit the spot for me right about now. 85 and humid out in southern nh. Love to read a good halloween tale during the dog days of summer. I'm not sure "witch" is worse....summer time or christmas. december to march seems to be the worst for me.

I actually have that book and you're right, it is great. It's not expensive if you buy a softcover but a hardback is quite pricey. I got mine when it first came out so it wasn't so bad.

Im glad some of you might go pick it up. I feel as if i've done my good dead for the day. Amazon usually has it cheap in softcover. Really really worth it
