Creepyhomemakers thread reminded me of another horror movie commercial that terrified me everytime it came on the tv so I thought I'd ask about any others out there we might have forgotten. Mine was a scan around a bassinet with a lullaby playing and a man saying..."The Davidson's are having a baby, the only problem is...it's ALIVE!"
That's when you get a quick peek at a claw hanging over the side of the bassinet. That scared me so bad and even worse when I finally saw the movie and the baby!!!!!!!!!!

Good thing daddy was willing to walk me to the bathroom and check under my bed for monsters and clowns at night though

Without question, Phantasm. Its a shame that horror movies no longer have the scariness/chill factor that they once did, which is a crying shame.

Do they not have that scare factor ...because you are older and have seen their gimmicks before 100 times?
    I watch almost "0" television, that's why I'm asking, I don't know.
The movie that "got me" when I was a kid was "Invaders from Mars" (Right title?) where it ends as it was all just a dream, the kid looks out the window and the spaceship lands in the sand pit for real..movie over!
Fantasy-reality, interchangable is a youthful dimension of life that adds much worry to the young mind..as long as you can eventually determine that a difference exists and that you do live in just one realm, mostly.
I'm not sure I had this luxury but I made the best of whichever one I was dwelling in at any given moment.
    Still do.

Gym, obviously having seen horror movies over and over can reduce the scare factor but in my opinion society in general has made us numb to quite a bit. All you have to do is turn on the news and the headlines read murder, rape or robbery.

Unfortunately, that statement is far too true; the news is much more horrifying and depressing.

I can't think of any commercials that scared me as a child, to be honest. Some movies (the remake of The Fly and An American Werewolf in London), but not commercials...
