I never really pictured or planned on this happening but Zombies are taking over my haunt plans! Is this happening to anyone else? Do you make a haunt plan and stick with it or find yourself influenced by what you see in the stores, online and here on the forum? I have so many different projects going.
I already have the SpiritHalloween Zombie farmer and wife (BTW they are back being sold at SpiritHalloween this year). I was originally planning on just a farm scene with them but that has grown into a full-blown zombie town that will mostly likely happen next year now due to backyard renovations. The ToTers will encounter the farmers first with scarecrows and cornstalk passage way, the town, and on the outskirts of town a circus/carnival. I'm working on putting together an animated zombie neighbor for my couple. Now I'm thinking of adding some zombie ground breakers to my regular graveyard (found a number of them at SpiritHalloween this year that I like and the price is right). I picked up a Zombie Survival poster to post at the entrance to our driveway, found some zombie masks I want to add as props elsewhere and stumbled upon the CD Zombie Influx (posted about under the Music section). I guess the Zombies have taken a bite out of any plans I was considering for adding a Vampire/Witch/Pirates/Skull Island/Mad Scientist Lab area this year....I guess I could work the haunted nursery into being seen thorough a window in the home of the zombie couple; otherwise that will be on the backburner. The Zombies have simply overrun my available yard space. Not a bad thing, but just not what I had envisioned back in November of last year. Dang I need another yard to decorate!

I think I can speak for the majority when I say that by and large, most here would see zombies taking over their haunt to be a positive...

I'm at that awkward stage in life... Somewhere between 'Annoying Fanboy' ...and 'Dirty Old Man'...

i do stick to the theme i choose, but sometimes change the original lay out of the decorations i had planned.
and i agree, zombies aren't all that bad. the year i did a zombie theme i posted warning signs that read--keep moving, please don't feed the zombies. and i had pre recorded a voice that a skeleton head recited of the rules. i got the rules from a zombie game on line
Simulation Rules
Zombies are grey, move very slowly and change direction randomly and frequently unless
they see something moving in front of them, in which case they start walking towards it. After a while they get bored and wander randomly again. If a zombie finds a surviver standing directly in front of it, it bites and infects them: the survivor immediatly joins the ranks of the undead.
Survivors are pink and run five times as fast as zombies, occasionally changing direction at random. If they see a zombie directly in front of them, they turn and run in panic.
Panicked survivors are bright pink and run twice as fast as other survivors. If a survivor sees another panicked survivor, it starts panicking as well. A panicked survivor who has seen nothing to panic about for a while will calm down again.

Hmmm... zombies... yes, I think that WOULD be a good thing. Don't know if my contacts need to be replaced and I missed it, but what was your haunt ORIGINALLY supposed to be?
