So another idea came to me. This would work best in a warehouse, where you can have platforms to look down on the haunt. I guess this could be compared to the movie cube slightly.

What I was thinking, is that basically you set it up that it's a maze they have to get through, but that they only have "x" amount of time to get through it. If they don't make it through by "X' minutes some doors shut and others open and changes the maze.

You make it so it's never obtainable in the beginning anywheres that they need to go through one change before making out. So you could have it with actors behind doors that open up when a sound goes off saying that time is up.

With looking down on it, you could inform your actors which doors to be behind to get the best affect.

I think if done right, it could be a very unique experience.

    Thoughts and improvements always welcome.

Sounds like an exciting plan! It of course would require lots of solid construction, sliders, rollers, closing mechanisms, locking mechanisms, lighting, safety, etc. And that's not even including special effects of props you would include.

Would it be a continuous stream of people or 1-at-a-time? You would need to have a plan for the que line and how much time to allow guests in the maze before time is expired. A one minute run may not seem like much, but after 60 guests that's a 60 minute wait for people outside.

    This would be fun!

Yeah obviously this is not a thought out idea, just came to me. I feel like if you make it big enough, you could have quite a few people in it at a time, and though you tell them its a timer, its not. Its some one in a control room choosing what doors to open and close.

This is really a great idea Empty!

If you make the maze "long enough" (both long as in length and long as interchanging) you could easily allow groups of 4 or so into the maze every minute.

It wouldn't be a cheap or easy build, and of course there would be trial an error, but I really like this idea!

By Golly, it Just Might Work!

That does sound awesome! You could have random props and detail work on the wall and it would really bring it to life!

OH! Or it could be a mirror maze! That would be really intense!

I spent a great many years of my life in the world of merely thinking of strange, fun thoughts.
    Then I went for it!
It requires probably uncommon opportunity and personal ideals of commitment ..but nothing of mere fantasy within the mind compares to physically making your fantasy a reality.
I happen to be a very fortunate person who has done this with my haunted house.
My house is actually my art museum, interactive.
    hahahaha!

They did pull it off in the horror flick "13th Ghost" which had an excellent concept utilizing glass walls which was similar to your idea. Great plan though! Just wish I had the budget to pull that one off! Would be great!

I also thought of an easier way to do this would just to have a ridiculous amount of doors to choose from. And make some doors that you can go through one way but not the other, make some that go into different rooms, i think that would be easier and no mechanics involved, and you can control exactly where you want them to go. You could still go with the countdown concept, that wouldn't know either way.
