I was just wondering if there are any folks out here that are not haunters. And the haunters that are here....what type of haunter are u? a "pro" or a "home" haunter. I feel left out....like I'm the only one on here not doing some kind of haunt or working in a haunt or building props.

I set up the front yard for TOT's and consider myself a haunter. I saw some where if you had a walk thru you were considered a haunter. I figure if someone puts out one ghost in a tree for the enjoyment of everyone, he's a haunter. I can see the difference between home and pro though.

I was beginning to think I was the one. I guess after a lifetime of loving halloween...I probably should do a home haunt. My kids would freak though....they are both under 5. To them, thunder is scary.

First Halloween party I threw at my house had a haunted house walk through in the basement. I spent a week on it, it was kinda cheesy, but it was a big hit. Problem was everyone only went through it once and that was it. I though about tossing my brother a few bucks the next time I had a party to scare people in the basement, but I ultimately decided to just spend the effort on the rest of the house.

I decorate like crazy though and plan on having one or two props activated by either motion or a pressure pad this year to scare people.

My girlfriend has a massive piece of property and definitely when I move out there I'm going to build a haunt completely with our own corn maze.

I'm not a haunter, but definitely a Halloween enthusiast.

Infact..I have never (yet) heard of anyone having done their haunting like I have. I know, many big haunt-egos all want to believe they did it first, invented "Boo!", invented the polka-dot room, ex cetra, believe me, my ego is in-check, the facts are:1) I have done probably 99% of ALL of the work done on my house for these last 23 years.
    2) I build almost all of everything I have here, secret passages, hidden doors, dug actual exit tunnels through the yard, special defects, art work, sculptures. I have also done almost all of the tedious normal grunt work here too from painting the house to picking up the cigerette butts, sweeping the floor.
    3) I have been open almost Every Night for house tours for 22 years!
    4) I have conducted most of the tours myself, alone most of the time, except for "The Season".
I have also strove to Not Copy other people's "Stuff" and ideas because I see life as an opportunity to express Myself and my life is finite so better not waste it!
No Hollywood monsters here, no blood, gore, aggressive attacking behaviour, I do love scaring people with 29cent items though (maybe this is my ego unleashed? "Look what I scared you with! ha! ha!")
It never gets boring either (Maybe doing it all helps that?)

I have been decking out the yard since I have owned a house for 4 yrs. Prior to that I haunted the living room of my apartments and before that I was decorating the inside of my parents place. I have always loved Halloween and the traditional spooky and classic monsters.

I was "just decorating" in the last 4 years, but last year, I became a Haunter. This year, after being here on this site just made it worst... I became Hauntier.

I own a consulting / actor training / and voice work company that's geared specifically for haunted attractions and houses. I was an actor at a large theme-park haunt for many years and began working on haunted houses over 30 years ago. I travel across the country teaching haunt actors how to be more efficient and terrifying. I also review haunts for an online radio show.

But I don't own a haunt, don't decorate my house for Halloween, and rarely celebrate the holiday except for taking the kids trick-or-treating. Most of my work is done before October and I'm usually worn out by 10/31 which happens to be my Mother's birthday so we celebrate that instead...
