A while back I saw some scuttlebutt about recognizing (celebrating) Halloween on the Saturday before of after the 31st when it falls on a weekday. Personally I would rather rock a graveyard on a Saturday then midweek. Has anyone gone to their communities about the grand day??

There was a move by Spirit Halloween to have the holiday officially celebrated on the last Saturday of October. AFAIK it never got of the ground. I'm a purist and think it should always fall/be celebrated on the 31st, regardless of the day of the week.

You can celebrate Halloween anytime you want, but Samhain is celebrated on the eve of October 31st and November 1st.

Halloween should always be on the 31st. I hope it never changes. People are free to celebrate when they want. I think Halloween should be celebrated officially during the whole month of October.

I think the set day would go a long way to appease those uneducated few who hate/protest it. But what do I know?

I would rather have Halloween become a National Holiday and get the day off, than have it made a floating holiday.
Odd's are, to appease both sides and make it so you don't have to be given the day off it will become a National floating holiday like Thanksgiving, if either one happens.
Even if it is made to be celebrated on the last Saturday, I'll still celebrate on October 31st....somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

i vote it stays on the 31st
but i also vote for it being a national holiday where schools are closed Nov 1
so kids can celibate nice and late

I agree it should be a national holiday, but I doubt that will ever happen. I think there is a better chance of Superbowl Sunday becoming an official holiday before that happens.
Does anyone keep their kids home instead of sending them to school on the 31st or 1st?
