i love every day and every season. no sense in making time fly and missing out on life. i'm old enough as it is. lol. i don't like slasher movies at all. there's no imagination there at all. no talent, just raw fear. a good old fashioned scary story took just the right combinations of sounds, lights, and movement. took talent. that's my bag. the ring was good, 1408, gothica, and the mist are a few good new ones. if you liked-the others-you will like -the sixth sense-. the haunted mansion was a very good show. i loved it.

Shebear1,
"The Graveyard Book" is written by Neil Gaiman who also wrote "Coraline" and "Stardust". Here is the amazon.com link: Amazon.com: The Graveyard Book (9780060530921): Neil Gaiman, Dave Mckean: Books
And the summary right from Gaiman's site:
Bod is an unusual boy who inhabits an unusual place-he's the only living resident of a graveyard. Raised from infancy by the ghosts, werewolves, and other cemetery denizens, Bod has learned the antiquated customs of his guardians' time as well as their timely ghostly teachings-like the ability to Fade. Can a boy raised by ghosts face the wonders and terrors of the worlds of both the living and the dead? And then there are things like ghouls that aren't really one thing or the other. This chilling tale is Neil Gaiman's first full-length novel for middle-grade readers since the internationally bestselling and universally acclaimed Coraline. Like Coraline, this book is sure to enchant and surprise young readers as well as Neil Gaiman's legion of adult fans.
A lot of people seem to rate this book for 10 & up and quite often thought of as a child's book. I, however, found the story to be capable of a more grown-up audience as well and I can't wait for this to become a movie! I also find it has that dark, spooky quality we've talking about with a little terror and bloodshed thrown in to set the stage. The story is whimsical, but also serious at times.
I heard about 8 months ago that the were going forward with a 'live-action' style movie instead of an animated feature like coraline. In January, Gaiman announced that the movie was all but dead in the water due to bankruptcires and studio take-overs. In may, howver, it was announced that all was back on track and moving forward! CAN'T WAIT!"Look Honey, they have... uhm... 'Dead People' in the backyard!"
"Your body's dying. Pay no attention, it happens to all of us!"

Thanks for the info, Grimsley. Looks like I will need to add it to my summer reading list!
