So, I have only been able to have two other Craigs Lists Scores since last summer. One was an AMAZING deal, the other was an ok/fair deal. Either way, I check the ads daily. I decided to check the area where my parent live, as I can always visit them and pick up some treasures. Well, I am glad I did! There was a recent post that said "Halloween Decorations, $2,500." I thought, for that price, this person must have some serious decor. From her description, I could tell she did...The Count, Gravely, Tombstones, Organ, Frankenstein Lab Scene, etc. I was sooo excited! So I emailed her and she wrote me back and sent me a link to her pictures to see the props. I told her that I was mainly interested in the larger props as we had a lot of indoor and smaller decor, and we were just looking to add to the outdoor haunt. She wrote back saying that she really wanted to sell it all in one lot because her husband recently passed away, and she was trying to deal with his estate, so she wanted to get rid of it all at once, etc. So needless to say, I was heartbroken, but understood and told her if things changed to let me know, that I was still interested in her props. A day later she wrote me back saying that she had someone email her about the smaller items, so if we wanted to come look at the bigger stuff, that would be great. I was so escited!
So DH and I rented a Uhaul, and drove 2 hrs and 15 minutes one way yesterday to look at the goods, and this is what we came home with! The girl was very nice, and we chatted a lot about Halloween. I know she was sad to see some of her things go, but I told her that they were going to a good home and she could come this year for Halloween. I think she might! The large wooden coffin, Frankenstein table and accessories, and pedestals were all made by her husband. The two large silver pieces go on each side of the Frank table, so they look like they are touching and making electricity. Frank has an inflatable body in him, with silver "bars" over him to "keep him down." I got so much cool stuff to use this year!! So heres pics : Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to post them without having to click on the links
