The Ravens Grin Inn had a very busy night last night!
Let the summer begin!
Open every night for the last 23 years!
(But most nights are not like last night..or I would already be buried on the hill!)

It is so awesome that you run your haunt daily.

What a dream job!

I bet you have a good deal of regular visitors...I was wondering how often you change props or scenery in your haunt-and how many pots of coffee you must have to drink everyday to keep up with it all, heheheh.

I change a big thing but mostly fine tune and repair everything else ..every day!

DragonLadySue told me she loved going to your place Gym. She is the one with the hearse club. I of course didn't get to go.

Hey Gym! Love the stories you tell about what happens. Any good ones from the very busy night?

Not only were a fair number of patrons here to take the house tour but another couple of large groups were here to scavenger hunt! (Or play Hide & Seek?)
I personally have the most fun outside of the fall when it's so nuts here. Small groups offer me more opportunity to really pay attention and give them ..whatever works the best for them.
You see...what happens here is not very much like most might think of when the term:Haunted House" is used.
The very first room might be a 45 minute presentation from me.
I tell some of the actual haunted history of this house(telling it all would ruin my voice)
This is a "Haunted", Haunted House and has been since at least 1925.
I have unfortunately Really scared some deeply with the history, so I have been mostly telling it with attempted humor thrown in..but the facts are actual and true and have happened to people who once lived here , customers, employees, my Ex, My Wife and myself.
I love getting people all accepting to become scared, then making them laugh instead!
Some have begged me to stop making them laugh because their faces hurt!
Just last Transworld a group had this happen to them, Again!

The house is full of my own art and artwork and my former neighbor Jeremy Bohr's masks.
I have built secret passages, secret doors, ex cetra plus a long winding concrete tunnel
("tunnel" as in "underground") Of course some of the best frights here often come from 10cent items presented well. (Versus a $5,000 item as a yawner!) Which is another thing that evokes the laughter, "I just jumped and screamed because of THAT?"
"Yes you did."
Present day experts and fans of the techno-mechainecal haunt fare offered by prop builders will be very disapointed inventorying my place , one small such prop resides here, the rest I made from my own ideas.
It's 6:58! Time to OPEN!!!

Last weekend two young woman said, "See you next Tuesday1"
"?" "We are coming back next Tuesday witha group of new people."
Then two more young woman arrived at the same time , so seven customers were here.
The one young woman had worked a short while for us once so all total maybe only one of the seven had not been here before.
It was a very succesfull Ad-Lib night for Jim! Ad-libs might save the day sometimes when returning customers were just here so recently.
after one one-liner the new boy in the room said, "WOW!"
"??"
"What does Wow mean in this context?"
No answer... So quite awhile later as everyone was laughing at some more of my goofy ad-libs, I crept over to "Mr. Wow", and said in a tiny,quiet, cartoon voice.."wow!?"
Safe to say, everybody had a very good time here tonight, and probably a very memorable time too. People talk about their visits here for years..it's wonderfull free advertising, provided via actual, real enthusiasm , unavailble at any "price", only earned by impressing, entertaining, stimulating a customer in a way they maynot have experienced ever before? (Therein lies it's special-ness!)
